SchoolsGolf tournaments are designed to help juniors develop independence, responsibility, and respect for the game.
Parents and carers are asked to support juniors in:
- Arriving in good time to allow proper check-in with SchoolsGolf staff
- Ensuring correct dress and footwear
- Understanding scoring responsibilities, including agreeing and signing scorecards
- Encouraging good pace of play and respectful behaviour towards club members, staff, and other competitors
- Allowing juniors to manage scoring and procedures themselves.
- Remaining a good distance away from all players on the course (see below)
Your support helps create a positive experience for all players and schools involved.
General Information:
Neither spectators nor competitors are allowed to give advice to competitors. Information on the Rules of Golf or on matters of public information, such as positions of hazards or flag sticks are not considered advice but spectators are prohibited from making rulings during competitions.
Caddying:
We have sought the opinions of our stakeholders and have agreed that caddies are prohibited in SchoolsGolf events.
Spectator Code:
Spectators are welcomed and encouraged at every SchoolsGolf event. As a spectator, you must stay at least 50 yards* away from the group you are following and refrain from interacting with your young player or anyone in the group. Please stay on the cart path if the hole allows it. Walking on the tees, fairways, and greens is prohibited. To help with the pace of play, we encourage all spectators to follow one shot ahead of the group they are following and help with ball spotting.
* Please be mindful that participating schools have Safeguarding Policies and Risk Assessments relating to their players’ involvement. Your adherence to this Spectator code is important.
