“OPTIONAL” FORMAT: Individual Net. No official format will be used, but if you would like to play in the “optional” format, it will be an individual net. Individuals compete, with each player playing their own ball, with a max score of their ESC. The fee is $5 PER PERSON to be paid at registration and this “optional” event will be played using the November 1, 2019 Handicap Revision. Men will play the White tees, women will play the Red tees. Requests to play a different tee set are available by emailing Spencer Sorensen (ssorensen@ncga.org) by Thursday morning at 8:00 A.M.
REGISTRATION: Registration will begin at 8:30 AM outside the pro shop. Please make sure to check-in NO LATER than 10:00 AM. You will receive your scorecard, lunch, and welcome gift at that time.
GOLF CARTS: Lake Merced is a cart path only facility for outside events. You may walk if you wish. If you would like to use a pull cart, you should bring your own if possible as the club has a limited number for use.
SCORING: Once your round is complete, please sign and attest your scorecards and give them to Spencer near the pro shop at the same site as registration. The final results will be emailed out by the following day, Tuesday.
PACE OF PLAY: Please keep up with the group in front of you and be aware of the designated Pace of Play found at the bottom row of your scorecard. In order to keep up an adequate pace of play, all participants should pick up once they have reached their Equitable Stroke Control (ESC) score. A player’s ESC score is based off his/her course handicap as follows:
9 or less: Double Bogey
10-19: a 7 on any hole
20-29: an 8 on any hole
30-39: a 9 on any hole
40 or more: a 10 on any hole
PRIZES: Gift cards will be awarded for Closest to the Hole contests on par threes.
RULES OF PLAY: The Rules of Golf are in effect.
DRESS CODE: Players must be properly attired both on the golf course and premises of the club. Blue jeans, designer jeans, t-shirts and tank tops are prohibited. Golf shirts must be worn and shorts must be no shorter than mid-thigh (no jean shorts). Footwear with metal spikes is prohibited.
GOLF SHOP & PRACTICE RANGE: The Golf Shop and driving range will be open at 9:00 AM.
FOOD SERVICE: Boxed lunches will be available for pickup prior to teeing off. Continental breakfast will be available at 9:00 AM. There will be no other food service available for purchase as the club is closed on Mondays.
