The Tennessee Parent-Child Championship began in 1980 at Henry Horton Golf Course as the Father-Son Championship. In 2017, the event changed to the Parent-Child Championship and allowed females to participate for the 1st time in the event's history.

 

Applications are open to any combination of Fathers/ Mothers/Sons/Daughters/Grandsons/Granddaughters/Uncles/Aunts that wish to play together, including Step-Fathers, Step-Daughters, etc. Groupings are restricted to 3, 4, or 5 players. All players must be 13 years of age on or before June 15, 2019.

 

The format for the Tennessee Parent-Child Championship is a 36-hole stableford competition combining the total score for both players. The stableford points for each ball will be as follows: Bogey= 1 point, Par= 2 points, Birdie= 4 points, and Eagle(or better)= 8 points. The field will be broken in to four flights based on the round 1 scores. The field is limited to 120 players. There will be four sets of tees available to choose from (6550, 6200, 5100, and the forward tee). Players must choose to play from the same set of tees for both rounds.
