Historical Context: Miss Eleanor W. Allen was twice the president of the WGAM serving from 1917-1920 and again from 1930-1933. She donated the trophy in 1938
Format: 18-Hole Four-Ball stroke play – Better Ball of partners, 95% of handicap.
Starting Time: 9:00am Shotgun Start - please refer to pairings and starting hole assignments.
Included: Golf, cart, driving range & buffet lunch.
Golf Carts, Caddies and Pull Carts: Golf carts are included in the Championship entry fee. Players are strongly encouraged to use golf carts. Caddies and pull/push carts are permitted. (at the host clubs’ discretion)
Handicap: Indexes will be computed as of the June 15th GHIN Revision.
Rules of Play: All play will be from the Red/Gold Tee’s (Mass Golf tee markers)
The 2019 USGA Rules of Golf are in effect and are supplemented by the Mass Golf rules card.
The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the site.
It is the individual player’s responsibility to know the Conditions of the Competition.
Rules of Golf: The Rules of Golf as approved by the United States Golf Association and the R&A given play. Questions will be settled by the Committee in charge of the competitions consisting of staff and officials assigned by Mass Golf, whose decision shall be final.
Distance Measuring Devices: The use of distance measuring devices is permitted.
Scorecards: In order for a side’s score to count, the scorecard must be individually identifiable. Partners that do not make a score on any particular hole should mark an “X”. Scorecards are to be exchanged and brought to the scoring area immediately upon completion of play. Scoring table will be on the back deck of the club house.
Scores will be posted by Mass Golf.
Awards: The Eleanor W. Allen Bowl is a permanent trophy and will be engraved with the names of the gross winners.
Ties will be decided by a match of cards in accordance with USGA recommended method.
Prize Certificates (gross & net places) will be given out and must be redeemed at The Haven Country Club.
Hole Placement Charts & Local Rules Sheets will be provided on the day of tournament.
Golf Shop and Practice Area: The golf shop will open at 7:30 am. The practice area will be available at 7:45 am. The driving range tees will be MATS ONLY.
The locker rooms will be available before and after golf.
Dress Code: Appropriate golf attire is required at all Mass Golf competitions for players, caddies and spectators. The dress code of the host facility will take precedent if there is any question.

Food & Beverage Services: Included is a Buffet Lunch at the conclusion of play. The Snack Shack will be available throughout the round. (opening at 9:00 am cash or credit accepted)
Restrooms: Located at the Clubhouse/Golf Shop areas and at the on-course Snack Shack.
Care of the Course: Please rake all bunkers, repair all divots and ball marks, and prevent unnecessary damage.
