The Tennessee Junior Amateur Championship began in 1964 at Old Hickory Country Club.
Applications are open to male junior amateurs who 1)have a parent/ legal guardian who is a resident of the state of Tennessee or 2)possess an active USGA/GHIN Handicap Index from a TGA member club or course. Amateurs must meet the USGA definition of an amateur golfer. Junior Amateurs must have not reached their 19th birthday on or before June 25, 2019, and have not yet begun classes as a full time college student. The format for the Tennessee Junior Amateur Championship is a 54-hole stroke play championship. The field at the Championship proper is 72 players. The Championship field will consist of players that are exempt from qualifiers and those who advance through a local qualifying round.
