2019 Arkansas Amateur Championship

IMPORTANT: All divisions are combined into one event for the 9th consecutive year and the field is limited to the first 60 amateurs and 60 combined in mid-senior, senior, super-senior & masters.

 

ELIGIBILITY: Open to male, amateur golfers who are individual members of the ASGA.  The minimum age is 16 and non-residents are not eligible, except persons living in a “border town.” Eligibility questions addressed to Jay Fox, Executive Director prior to entry: jay@asga.org or call 501-455-2742.

 

HANDICAP INDEX/DEADLINE: Amateur division - minimum age 16 with 8.0 or less; Mid-Senior – 37 and older with 8.0 or less; Senior – 52 & older with 12.0 or less; Super-Senior – 62 & older & Masters – 70 & older with 16.0 or less.  The entry deadline is June 20th or until the field is full.

 

TEE MARKERS:  Amateurs (16 & older) will play the BLUE tees, or approximately 6,900 yards.  Mid-Seniors (37 & older) and Seniors (52 & older) will play the WHITE Tees or approximately 6,200 yards.  Super-Seniors (62 & older) and Masters Division (New in 2018 for ages 70 & older) will play the GOLD Tees or approximately 5,200 yards.  Par is 36-35 – 71 for all five divisions.

 

ENTRY FEE: $250 per player includes carts, green fees & range balls for all three tournament rounds, and player gift.  On-line entrants at www.asga.org charged additional $10. 

 

SCHEDULE OF PLAY: 18 holes on Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29.  The field is cut approximately in half for the final round, Sunday, June 30 in all five divisions.  In the event of inclement weather, the ASGA reserves the right to reduce this championship to 36 holes, with a cut after one round.    

 

PRACTICE ROUND: On Thursday, June 27 or time with approval of golf shop 479-521-5841.  Evan Dill is the PGA Professional and Al Sexton is the General Manager.  The $25 fee includes cart & range balls. 

 

TROPHIES/CERTIFICATES: The winner and runner-up in each division will receive individual trophies and the state amateur champion will be engraved on the E.B. Gee Trophy. Ties for 1st settled by playoff – all others split.  PVAC Pro Shop Gift Certificates will be awarded to the low finishers in each division.

Paradise Valley History:  established in 1967 by local PGA Professional Ellis Bogan on 12- acre plot of land that was once considered “out in the country” between Fayetteville and Springdale, the course was designed by Maury Bell.
