Format:                                                         

Two18-hole stipulated rounds of individual stroke play.  Contestants will play from the USGA Markers wherever they are situated (see Yardage sheet).  The low individual scores will advance to the U.S. Women’s Open Championship at the Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina on May 30-June 2, 2019. Any play-offs will take place immediately after the conclusion of play for the last spot and two alternate positions.

 

Competition Schedule:                               

Starting times will begin at 7:00am/12:30pm off of holes #1 and #10.

Please check the NCGA website for groupings and starting times. Please be at your assigned tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.

 

Practice Round Information:                      

Available Tuesday-Sunday after 2 PM starting Thursday, April 18th. One Complimentary round is available per contestant and is for contestants only. Carts are permitted for the practice rounds at a fee of $20 per person.  Please call the Pro Shop to arrange a time. Practice facilities are not available until 12:30 PM each available day. Do NOT attempt to use the facilities prior to that time, unless permitted by club staff.

 

Cart Information:                                        

Automotive transportation is prohibited. Players and caddies must walk.

Pull-carts are permitted. SPECTATOR CARTS ARE PROHIBITED.

 

Caddies:                                                        

Caddies are permitted for the qualifying, however, they are not available from Contra Costa CC.

 

Practice Balls:                                              

Provided for players prior to and following competition round at no cost. The practice range will open at 6:00am. The practice putting and chipping greens will open at sunrise.

 

Payment Information:                                

Credit Card or cash are acceptable for Pro Shop and Food and Beverage purchases. 

 

Food and Beverage Information:               

The Snack Bar will be open at 6:00 AM and grab and go will also be available between rounds. No outside food and beverage is permitted.

 

Withdrawals:                                               

Notify the NCGA at 831-625-4653 to withdraw.  Players that fail to notify the NCGA prior to their starting time will be listed as No Shows.

 

Refunds:                                                        

In the event of injury or illness, contact the USGA at 908-326-1950 for a refund prior to May 30, 2019. No refunds will be issued after May 30, 2019.  A $35 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

 

 

ADDITIONAL RULES INFORMATION 

 

Rules Information:                                       

The Rules of Golf effective January 2019 are in effect and are supplemented by the 2019 USGA Hard Card.  The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the qualifying site.  It is the player’s responsibility to know the conditions of the competition.

 

Limitation of Golf Balls:                              

The one ball Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. See Model Local Rule G-4.

 

Automotive Transportation:                     

The Local Rule prohibiting the use of motorized transportation as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. See Model Local Rule G-6.

 

Distance-Measuring Devices:                     

Distance-Measuring Devices are NOT permitted. See Model Local Rule G-5.

 

Footwear:                                                     

Rule 4.3a is modified in this way:

                                                                       

During a round, a player must not wear shoes with:

  • Traditional spikes – that is, spikes having single or multiple points designed to penetrate deeply into the surface of the ground (regardless of whether made of metal, ceramic, plastic or other materials); or
  • Spikes of any design that are entirely or partially made of metal, if such metal may come into contact with the course.

Penalty for breach of Local Rule – see Rule 4.3.

 

Grooves Condition:                                     

The Local Rule as prescribed by Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect, except that the Exception in the Model Local Rule does not apply.  You may check to see if your grooves are conforming by using the Informational Club Database - http://www.usga.org/InfoClubsDB/intro.html
