2019 Arizona Divisional Match Play Championship

 

HOST SITE: Raven Golf Club – Phoenix: 3636 E Baseline Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85042

 

DATES: Sept. 3-6, 2019

 

CADDIES: Caddies are permitted for the match play portion of the Championship. They must walk at all times unless there is an available seat in one of the player’s carts. Caddies riding in a cart MUST NOT displace a player.

 

ELIGIBILITY: Participants must hold an active membership with an AGA Member Club and be at least 40 years old as of 9/3/2019.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Contact Raven Golf Club – Phoenix at (602) 243-3636 to schedule a practice round.

 

FORMAT: The Qualifier will be held on Tuesday September 3rd - 96 player max field size.

 

Match Play field size will be the following:
MASTERS DIVISION (40-54) - 32 players
SENIOR DIVISION (55-64) - 32 players
LEGENDS DIVISION (65+) - 32 players


Tournament Format & Schedule of Events

 

The Event at the Host Facility will consist of an 18-hole, individual stroke play qualifier at gross to determine match play seeding within each division.

 

 

Tuesday, September 3

7:00 a.m.  Start Times (3-somes, 9-minute intervals)

 

No Play-offs. Everyone will be seeded and guaranteed one match. All ties will be determinied by random draw.                                                      

Wednesday, September 4        
6:30 - Rd.1 Matches / 12pm - Rd.2 Matches  (2-somes, 8-minute intervals)                     

 

Thursday, September 5

6:30 – Quaterfinal Matches / 12pm -Semi-Final Matches (2-somes, 8-minute intervals)                        

 

Friday, September 6

6:30 a.m. – 6:46am (2-somes, 8-min intervals / 3 matches)       Final Match off No. 1 tee

 

 

9:30 a.m.                                               Awards Ceremony

 

 

 

PAIRINGS: Pairings for stroke player qualifier will be completed by the end of day on Friday, August 30. Registered players will receive an email once pairings are official and will be available online.

 

DRIVING RANGE: Practice balls will be available on the range prior to play Tuesday – Friday and inbetween matches on Wednesday and Thursday.

 

PAYOUTS: Payouts in the form of merchandise gift cards will be given to top finishers. Specific payout amounts will be posted prior to final-round scoring. Divisional Champions will receive a traditional Kachina trophy.

 

GOLF CART USE: Players may walk but are permitted to ride in carts and cart fees are covered in the tournament entry fee. Carts will be staged near the practice facilities each morning of the competition. Opponents will share a cart.

In addition, the following policies will be enforced:

  1. Spectator carts are not permitted for insurance reasons, NO EXCEPTIONS.
  2. Carts are assigned only to contestants. A caddie may use a cart only if a contestant is not displaced by such use.
  3. Restrictions on cart use for players are at the discretion of the Host Site, and all players are bound by those requirements, subject to withdrawal for violations of that policy. Any such restrictions will be posted at the tournament site.
  4. Two persons per cart only. Maximum of two carts per group
  5. Carts must be kept on paths if available near greens and tees.
  6. Any non-player riding with a player is considered a caddie and subject to any potential rules violations.
  7. Pull carts are permitted as long as not in conflict with the Host Club rules.

WITHDRAW POLICY: Prior to the Entry Deadline, players may withdraw from a tournament and receive a full refund by completing the withdraw process on the tournament website, calling the AGA office (602) 944-3035 during normal business hours or calling the Withdraw Line at (602) 944-3035 ext. 210 and leaving a message.

After the Entry Deadline has passed, any withdraw will be considered a “late withdraw.” Tournament entry fees will only be returned if the player’s position in the field is filled by an alternate. In any case, a $30 administrative fee will be deducted from any tournament entry fee refund, regardless of the reason for withdrawing.
