Format:
36-holes of individual stroke play net, 18-holes per day. Play will be 100% of the Course Handicap. Men will play from the WHITE NCGA tee markers and women will play from the RED NCGA tee markers in all flights. Please see the “Yardage” page on the event portal for hole-by-hole yardages. Course Handicaps for women will be adjusted accordingly as prescribed in Section 3-5 of the USGA Handicap Manual. The championship will be flighted based on the May 15th Handicap Revision and will be played using the June 1, 2019 Handicap Revision.
Flights:
Big Sur (11.2 and below); Golden Gate (11.3-14.2); Yosemite (14.3 and above).
Ties/Play-off: Ties for first place, in each flight, will be broken by a hole-by-hole play-off. If a play-off cannot be conducted (decision of the Committee and the golf course) the USGA suggested method of matching cards will be used. Ties for second and third places, in each flight, will be broken using the USGA method of matching cards.
Competition Schedule:
Both rounds will be played at Poppy Hills GC. The first starting time will be at 7:30AM from holes #1 and #10 on BOTH days. Players should be at their assigned tee 10 minutes prior to their starting time. Second round starting times will be based on first round scores within each flight.
Practice Round Information:
The NCGA does not arrange practice rounds.
Contact the Golf Shop at (831) 622-8239 to schedule a practice round. NCGA member green fees are $85 Monday-Thursday, $110 Friday and Sunday, and $120 Saturday. Cart fee is $25 per rider. Range balls are included in this fee.
Cart Fee Information:
Golf carts are optional at the player’s expense. Cart rental is $25 per rider. A maximum of two carts per group is permitted.
The NCGA is committed to providing golfers with disabilities as much course access as the conditions allow. Please contact the host Head Professional to make requests for additional access at least one week prior to the event.
SPECTATOR CARTS ARE PROHIBITED.
Practice Balls:
Practice balls are included at Poppy Hills GC on competition days, prior to each round.
Range opens at 6:30AM or sunrise whichever is earlier.
Payment Information:
Cash and major credit cards accepted at Poppy Hills GC.
Food and Beverage Information:
Porter's In The Forest opens at 6:00AM.
No outside food and beverage is permitted at Poppy Hills GC. To avoid losing position and penalty for slow play, we recommend all players order ready-made food at the grill or restaurant if doing so during their stipulated rounds.
Rules Information:
Golf shoes – Model Local Rule G-7 is in effect.
Maximum Score – The maximum allowable gross score for any player on any hole is nine (9), Rule 21.2 applies.
Additional Information:
Prior to the first day of the event, you must make yourself familiar with the Player Handbook, Hard Card, and Pace of Play Policy.
