2019 Arkansas Women's Match Play

Eligibility: All players must be individual members of ASGA and full-time residents of the state of Arkansas.  Non-residents are not eligible, with the following exception:  a person may live across the state line, such as Texarkana, Texas, but must be a member of the Texarkana Country Club and an individual ASGA member.  The minimum age is 16 unless approved by the ASGA Women’s Committee.

 

Format: Participants will play an 18-hole qualifying round on Sunday, July 7th. The round for the qualifying will be two 9-hole rounds and in the event of inclement weather, the qualifying score could be a 9-hole score. The top eight (8) qualifiers in each division will comprise the Championship Flight of that division. The next eight (8) will comprise the First Flight and so on. To be eligible to compete for an Arkansas Women’s Match Play Title the player must be in that respective ‘Championship” Flight.

 

Entry Fee: The entry fee of $200 per player includes cart fees for all tournament rounds, range balls each day, welcome dinner after play on Sunday and lunch Monday. Each player is given the opportunity to play three (3) rounds of tournament golf at – the qualifying round on Sunday and matches on Monday and Tuesday. Players who win on Tuesday will play four (4) rounds at Maumelle Country Club – including Wednesday’s final match.

 

 

 

Entry Deadline: Sunday June 23rd, 2019 at 4:00 p.m.  Players may submit entry forms via mail or online at www.asga.org with a credit card.

 

Carts/Caddies: Carts are based on two riders per cart and will be assigned by the ASGA. Players wishing to have a cart by herself (or share with her caddie) MUST pay the other half of the cart fee in the pro shop. Individual carts that are shared among tournament participants are covered by the entry fee.

 

Schedule/Starting Times:

 

Sunday, July 7th – 1:30pm shotgun qualifying round (all respective match play brackets will be determined based on the qualifying round). Welcome dinner immediately following play. Contestants will be emailed tee times/pairings for Monday’s matches.

 

Monday, July 8th – First round matches for all brackets (Winners will advance to the semi-finals of the eight-man brackets, which will be played Thursday) Tee times will begin at 8:30 am. Contestants will be emailed tee times/pairings for Tuesday’s matches. Lunch will be provided after play.

 

Tuesday, July 9th – Semi-final matches and Consultation bracket matches (Winners will advance to the finals of each flight played and will play on Friday. Losers will be eliminated) Tee times will begin at 8:30 am. Contestants will be emailed tee times/pairings for Wednesday’s matches. Lunch will be provided after play.

 

Wednesday, July 10th – Final matches.  Tee times will begin at 8:30 am. Awards ceremony following the conclusion of play.

 

Gift Certificates/Awards: Maumelle Country Club gift certificates will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place finishers in each winner bracket as well as 1st place in each consolation bracket. Qualifying medalists in all divisions Championship & Senior division will receive an award. First and second place winners in the Championship flight of all divisions will also receive a crystal trophy. First place finishers in Championship flights will earn custody of their divisions’ traveling trophy for one year.

 

Practice Rounds: Please contact Maumelle Country Club to arrange a practice round. Practice round will be available for $30.00 + tax and would have to be played the week prior to the Match Play Championship.
