Format:

One18-hole stipulated round of individual stroke play.  Contestants will play from the USGA Tee Markers wherever

they are situated (see Yardage sheet).  The low 3 individual scores will advance to the U.S. Junior Amateur

Championship at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio on July 15-20, 2019.  Any play-offs will take place immediately after the

conclusion of play for the last spot and two alternate positions.

 

Competition Schedule:                               

Starting times will begin at 7:30 AM off Holes #1 and #10.  Please click here for groupings and starting times. Please be at your assigned tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.

 

Practice Round Information:                      

Practice rounds are available Tuesday, June 19 thru Sunday, June 24 and may be booked in advance by calling Herman McKee at the Stanford Pro Shop at (650) 724-0944. You are limited to one practice round and you may have a caddie. Parents may walk along as a spectator during the practice round or pay for a golf cart. Players pay for practice balls at the driving range.

 

Cart Information:                                        

Automotive transportation is prohibited. Players and caddies must walk. Pull-carts are permitted. SPECTATOR CARTS ARE PROHIBITED.

 

Caddies:                                                        

Caddies are permitted for the qualifying; however, no caddies are available at Stanford Golf Course.  Players are restricted from having Parents, Stepparent, or Legal Guardians as Caddies.

 

Practice Balls:                                              

51 W. Campus Drive, Stanford, CA 94305. The driving range will open at 6:00 a.m. on June 25 and is located across Junipero Serra Boulevard. Allow at least twenty (20) minutes to get from the driving range to the 1st or 10th tee. It is a 5-minute walk from the Golf Pro Shop or Clubhouse to the 10th Tee. There are practice putting greens near both tees.

 

Payment Information:        

Cash, check, and major Credit Cards are accepted for all golf shop and food and beverage purchases.

 

 

Withdrawals:                                               

Notify the NCGA at 831-625-4653 to withdraw.  Players that fail to notify the NCGA prior to their starting time will be listed as No Shows.

 

Refunds:                                                        

In the event of injury or illness, contact the USGA at (908) 234-2300 for a refund prior to July 16, 2019. No refunds will be issued after July 16, 2019.  A $35 service charge will be deducted from all refunds.

ADDITIONAL RULES INFORMATION

 

 

Rules Information:                                       

The Rules of Golf effective January 2019 are in effect and are supplemented by the 2019 USGA Hard Card.  The Committee will provide any additional Local Rules needed at the qualifying site.  It is the player’s responsibility to know the conditions of the competition.

 

Driver Heads:                                               

Only brands of golf balls on the most current List of Conforming Golf Balls and driver heads on the most current List of

Conforming Driver Heads may be used. Updated lists may be found on the USGA website at www.usga.org or by

contacting the USGA Equipment Standards Department at (908) 234-2300. See Model Local Rules G-1 and G-3.

 

Limitation of Golf Balls:                              

The one ball Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. See Model Local Rule G-4.

 

Automotive Transportation:                     

The Local Rule prohibiting the use of motorized transportation as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. See Model Local Rule G-6.

 

Footwear:                                                     

Rule 4.3a is modified in this way:

 

During a round, a player must not wear shoes with:

  • Traditional spikes – that is, spikes having single or multiple points designed to penetrate deeply into the surface of the ground (regardless of whether made of metal, ceramic, plastic or other materials); or
  • Spikes of any design that are entirely or partially made of metal, if such metal may come into contact with the course.

 

Penalty for breach of Local Rule – see Rule 4.3.

 

Grooves Condition:                                     

The Local Rule as prescribed by Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect, except that the Exception in the Model Local Rule does not apply.  You may check to see if your grooves are conforming by using the Informational Club Database - http://www.usga.org/InfoClubsDB/intro.html
