LPGA Amateurs is assessing every aspect of the Scramble Open and providing modifications where necessary. We want to assure you that we intend to provide the safest and best experience possible. We are in regular communication with Pinehurst Resort regarding their safety protocols and procedures and we are committed to hosting the 2020 Scramble Open at Pinehurst Resort.

Below you will find updated information regarding the 2020 Scramble Open:

  • First and foremost, the health and safety of the LPGA Amateurs members are our number one priority.
  • The LPGA Amateurs Golf Association is planning to conduct the 2020 Scramble Open under Phase Two of the Back2Golf Three Phase Approach. Which includes the following:
    • All competition rounds will utilize tee times off of both #1 and #10 tees on both Pinehurst No. 6 Course and Pinehurst No. 7 Course.
      • Tee times for both days will start at 7:33 a.m. and run through 9:30 a.m.
      • Tee times are spaced nine minutes apart.
    • Thursday’s Practice Round will now utilize tee times off of both #1 and #10 tees on both Pinehurst No. 6 Course and Pinehurst No. 7 Course.
      • Tee times will start at 7:33 a.m. and run through 9:30 a.m.
      • Tee times are spaced nine minutes apart.
  • Practice Round Tee-Times will be posted and available to view in this Event Portal soon.

Other safety measures such as health questionnaires, temperature checks and a designated entry point will be in place. You can also expect that registration, the welcome reception and the awards dinner may look different this year. We will be meeting with Pinehurst Resort in early July to discuss all of the food and beverage options for the Scramble Open. After that meeting, we will provide a more detailed update regarding social events and food and beverage during the event.

Pinehurst Resort has been open since May 22nd for guest play and hotel accommodations. Currently, North Carolina is in Phase Two of their three-phased opening approach. They are on schedule to be in Phase Three by the end of June. With that said, if unforeseen circumstances cause the LPGA Amateurs or Pinehurst Resort to cancel the Scramble Open, all participants will receive a 100% refund of their entry fee.

Stay safe and be on the lookout for another email update within the coming weeks!
