ENTRY DEADLINE

Entry applications, along with the appropriate fee, must be completed or received by WA Golf by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2020.

 

REFUND POLICY

Refunds due to cancellation before the close of entry are subject to a $10 service charge. After the close of entry and up until pairings are released, refunds for documented and approved medical reasons are subject to a $25 service charge. No refund for any reason will be issued after round one pairings have been released. *Refunds due to COVID-19 will not be charged a service charge.
 

COURSE YARDAGE

Course yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions. Hole-by-hole yardages are posted on the portal here.

Senior Men’s Yardage: 6,320 yards, par-73

Super Senior Men’s Yardage: 5,862 yards, par-73

 

LODGING

ONSITE REGISTRATION

All contestants must register in person with WA Golf at Inglewood Golf Club prior to starting round one play. Registration will be located outside the golf shop during the following times:

WEDNESDAY, MAY 20:     11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

THURSDAY, MAY 21:         7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.      

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS

Round one starting times will be released two weeks prior on May 7. Contestants will be re-paired by gross scores for the final round. Preferred starting time requests will not be accepted. Starting times will be posted on the WA Golf website (WAgolf.org), on the Championship Portal and will be emailed to each player.

 

SCHEDULE

36-hole four-ball stroke play (gross and net). Sides will be flighted based on combined course handicap. In the event of a tie for the Championship (gross only), a sudden-death playoff will be held immediately following play to determine the winner.

 

THURSDAY, MAY 21

            Amateur                                  7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

            Senior and Super Senior      12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

 

FRIDAY, MAY 22

            Senior and Super Senior       7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

            Amateur                                  12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. 

 

PRACTICE ROUND

All players will be allowed one complimentary practice round prior to the Championship. Practice rounds will be available at the times listed below:

  • Thursday, May 14 – After 1:00 p.m.
  • Friday, May 15 – After 1:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 17 – After 1:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 19 – After 1:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 20 – Block held after 1:00 p.m. for out of town contestants with limited times available in the morning.
     

Local contestants are encouraged to play their practice round prior to May 20 during the windows listed above. Consideration will be made for out-of-town players with regard to reserved starting times the day prior to the Championship. Contestants can reserve practice round times directly through the Inglewood Golf Club golf shop at (425) 488-7000, beginning on Tuesday, May 5 after the entry deadline. All practice round times are at the discretion of the host club. When making reservations, contestants must identify themselves as a WA Golf Men’s or Senior Men’s Four-Ball Championship participant.

 

FOOD SERVICE (NO-HOST)

The halfway house will be open each day from 6:30 a.m. to dusk with grab-and-go options. Breakfast, lunch and snack items will be available as well as beverages. The Clubhouse Restaurant and Bar will be open each day from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. with full menu service.

 

BOTTLED WATER

WA Golf will provide bottled water during both championship rounds. Coolers will be at multiple locations on the golf course. A beverage cart will not be on the course during play.

 

HOSTED LUNCH

Lunch will be hosted for all competitors following the final round on Friday, May 22 inside the Inglewood Golf Club Restaurant. Players may eat at any time from 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Players will be able to order off a limited menu.

 

METHODS OF PAYMENT

Inglewood Golf Club accepts all major credit cards and cash as methods of payment.

 

HOURS OF OPERATION

The golf shop will be open each day from 5:30 a.m. to dusk. The driving range will be open each day from 6:30 a.m. to dusk.

 

RANGE BALLS

Warm up range balls will be provided to contestants on the driving range before each round.

 

CARTS

Players and caddies may ride in a golf cart. Cart fees are $40 per team/day. Fees will be collected during registration. Please contact WA Golf if you did not register for a cart during registration but would now like to add one. Carts will not be guaranteed for teams who do not make a reservation during registration.

  

SPECTATOR CARTS

To provide an equal championship platform for all competitors, the use of carts by spectators is not permitted by WA Golf. 

 

CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABLED SPECTATORS

WA Golf is committed to providing an enjoyable spectator experience for people with disabilities at WA Golf championships. Requests from spectators seeking transportation onto the golf course due to a permanent disability, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), should be submitted one week in advance to the WA Golf Championship Department. While spectator carts may not always be available at each site, WA Golf will make every effort to accommodate these requests when available. 

Generally, an ADA covered disability is defined as a “physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual”. See, 42 USCA §12102. Spectators with a “temporary” injury or impairment that is not an ADA disability will not be allowed use of a golf cart under this Policy.

 

Spectators with transportation needs must contact the WA Golf Championship Department prior to the championship. This full policy is available at the following link: wagolf.org/policies.

 

PULL CARTS

Complementary pull carts will be available on a first come first serve basis in the golf shop.

 

CADDIES

Host club caddies will not be available. A player may provide his own caddie. Caddies will be required to wear a caddie bib provided on the starting tee.

 

PRIZES

The gross Men’s Four-Ball Champions will have their names inscribed on the Ray Koch Memorial Trophy. The gross Senior Men’s Four-Ball Champions will have their names inscribed on the Robert Ihlanfeldt Memorial Trophy. In addition, WA Golf championship crystal and merchandise credit will be presented to the overall gross and net champions in both the Men’s and Senior Men’s Championships as well as the Super Senior Flight. 

 

Merchandise credit will also be awarded to high finishing gross and net teams in all flights of both Championships. Merchandise credit must be redeemed in the Inglewood Golf Club golf shop.
Note: merchandise credit will expire on 12/31/2021

 

Awards will be given to any contestant who scores a hole-in-one or eagle during the championship.

 

AWARDS CEREMONY

An awards ceremony will take place immediately following the completion of play in each wave on Friday. The ceremony will take place in the outside the golf shop. Trophies and merchandise credit will be awarded at this time.

 

EXEMPTIONS

Champions of the Men’s and Senior Men’s Four-Ball Championship will receive an exemption into the 2021 Washington Champion of Champions and the 2021 Washington Men’s and Senior Men’s Four-Ball Championship.

 

GHIN SCORE POSTING

WA Golf will post competition scores for all players to the USGA GHIN System.

 

DRESS CODE

Players and caddies must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing while on host club property. The WA Golf Dress Code Policy is available at the following link: wagolf.org/policies and will be provided to all players, along with any additional measures required by the host club, in the Player Memorandum.
 

CODE OF CONDUCT

WA Golf expects all contestants, caddies, gallery, and guests to exhibit proper conduct and behavior on the golf course and anywhere on club property during a WA Golf championship. Unbecoming conduct or behavior may be grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any WA Golf event. The following are some examples of unbecoming conduct or behavior:

 

  • Repeated use of loud, abusive, and/or profane language
  • Throwing and/or breaking equipment (club, ball, etc.) in anger or frustration
  • Damaging host club, WA Golf, and/or fellow contestant property
  • Public criticism or verbal abuse of host club, officials, volunteers or staff, and/or WA Golf volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
  • Potential endangerment of others
  • Intentionally violating stated club policy
  • Violation of WA Golf Dress Code and/or Footwear Policy
  • Other conduct deemed unbecoming
  • The Committee in charge of the competition shall be the sole judge of determining Conduct Code violations.
     

UNNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL

After the entry deadline and during play of the Championship, players must notify WA Golf and state his need to withdraw. Entrants who unofficially withdraw (by not notifying WA Golf or without having sufficient reason) will not be granted entry into any future WA Golf Championship for a minimum of two years.

 

PACE OF PLAY POLICY

Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s Pace of Play Policy, which is in effect at all championships.

 

LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION

Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s 2020 Local Rules and Terms of the Competition, which will be in effect at all championships.

 

PROHIBITED USE OF AUDIO EQUIPMENT
Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player is not allowed to use an electronic device to listen to music or other audio (such as podcasts or the like), including by using speakers, headphones or earbuds. Penalty for breach of Local Rule - see Rule 4.3.
