AGES/ELIGIBILITY

 Open to male amateur golfers who are GSGA members and residents of the state of Georgia.

CHAMPIONSHIP FEE

Player’s advancing to the Championship will be responsible for a $200.00 Championship fee.  This fee will be due from the player upon being transferred to the Championship proper in the online registration system.  The credit card used to initially register will be charged $200.00 to complete the processing of the Championship fee.

March 11th – May 13th  

FIELD SIZE

100 players’ maximum at each qualifying site.

FORMAT

18 hole individual stroke play qualifier.  A total of 144 players will advance to the Championship proper. Qualifying places will be awarded according to a pro-rated formula.  You will be informed as to the number of qualifying places in your section the day of qualifying.

PRACTICE ROUND

One practice round per player. Please call Kinderlou Forest Golf Club to reserve your practice round starting time after you have received your acceptance confirmation on May 12.  Practice round cart and range fee is $27 plus tax. Credit cards and cash will be accepted.

YARDAGES & TEES

The BLUE tees will be used for the qualifier.  Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition.

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE

The golf shop and driving range will open at 7:00 a.m. on the day of qualifying

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on May 20. 

REGISTRATION

No formal registration will be held on site.

CARTS

Practice round cart and range fees are $27 plus tax. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. Tournament round cart and range fees are included in the championship fee. 

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY/CART POLICY

FOOD SERVICE

Food service will be available in the clubhouse.

REFUND POLICY

A $30 service charge will be retained by the GSGA on all refunds granted prior to the close of entries. If a player notifies the GSGA of their withdrawal for the Amateur, Junior, Match Play or Mid-Amateur Championship after the close of entries, but one week prior to the date of their qualifier, they will be granted a refund of 50% of their entry fee. Withdrawals must be submitted to the GSGA Rules & Competitions Department either via phone or email.

CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION - The following conditions shall be in effect for this competition:

  • GSGA competitions are "spikeless" events. Therefore, metal and traditionally-designed spikes are prohibited. Penalty for breach of this condition is disqualification.
  • Players are responsible for posting their scores to the handicap system upon conclusion of this competition. Scores must be posted as tournament scores. Course slope and rating information is typically posted at the scoreboard during the competition. You may also contact GSGA for this information. Your scores are subject to review by your peers and your club's handicap committee.
