AGES/ELIGIBILITY

 Open to female amateur golfers between the ages of 9-18. Entrants must be at least 9 years old on or before the first day of the Championship (June 22) and must not have reached their 19th birthday before the last day of the Championship (June 24). Entrants must have a GSGA handicap index and be residents of the State of Georgia.

Low 144 entries by USGA Handicap Index.

FORMAT

 54 holes of indiviudal stroke play.  

PRACTICE ROUND

One practice round per player. Practice rounds will be available on the designated times below two weeks prior to the competition. Please call Savannah Quarters to reserve your practice round starting time after you have received your acceptance confirmation on June 10th.  The practice round fee is included in the entry fee.  Practice rounds will be limited to players ony.  Carts for practice rounds are permitted for players who are licensed drivers and/or parents driving.  However, carts will be extremely limited and cannot be guaranteed due to member morning play and current cart safety restrcitions in place at the club.

YARDAGES & TEES

A practice yardage sheet will be available after the close of entries on the event portal page. Practice yardage sheets will also be available at the club. Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition.  Yardage books will be provided to players compliments of GSGA.

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE

The golf shop and driving range will open by 6:30 a.m. each day of competition. 

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on June 17th.  All play will start off #1 tee at 7:30 a.m. each day.

REGISTRATION

No formal registration will be held on site. Player withdraws must be called or e-mailed to the GSGA office so that an alternate may be contacted.

CADDIES

All players must walk and carry their own bag or may use a pull cart. Caddies are specifically prohibited.  Pull carts are permitted.

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY/CART POLICY

The GSGA Rules of Play, Pace of Play and Spectator Cart Policy for Junior Competitions shall be in effect. Click here to view policies.

Spectators may rent carts during the competition rounds at a cost of $30 per cart.  For 2020, spectator cart rentals will be restricted to only those with valid ADA certification that must be presented.  The number of carts allowed for rental to ADA spectators will be limited to two carts per group and no more than two people will be allowed per cart. The overall number of spectator carts rented in 2020 WILL BE EXTREMELY LIMITED and is subject to change based on availability.  Credit cards will be accepted.

PLAYER HOSPITALITY

Boxed lunches will be provided to players compliments of GSGA during round one and two.  Bottled water will be provided to players at multiple designated locations on the golf course. 

FOOD SERVICE

Subject to change, food service (snacks and beverages) will be available in the clubhouse at the Norman Grill. Credit cards ONLY be accepted.  Monday 11:00-2:00 p.m. only.  Tuesday-Wednesday 11:00-close.  F & B will not be available prior to 11:00 each day.

 

Spectators wishing to purchase a boxed lunch should purchase a ticket in the golf shop each day.  Cost is $20.

 

PRIZES

The winner shall receive their name engraved on the Nanci Bowen perpetual trophy and will receive a trophy to take home.  The top 6 players overall will receive prizes.

GA/SC GIRLS' JUNIOR CHALLENGE MATCH

The top SIX finishers in the Georgia Girls’ Championship will qualify to participate in the Georgia-South Carolina Girls’ Junior Challenge Match on August 1-2 at Sea Island Golf Club – Seaside on St. Simons Island. The 7th and 8th place finishers will be 1st and 2nd alternates.  Details will be distributed at the conclusion of the championship.  Players must be at least 14 years of age to qualify for the team.

REFUND POLICY

A $30 service charge will be retained by the GSGA on all refunds granted prior to the close of entries. Entry fees will not be refunded after entries close unless there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled. Withdraws after the close of entries must be made by calling the GSGA Rules and Competitions Department at (770) 955-4272 or (800) 949-4742 or via email to jfages@gsga.org

 

**For the remainder of 2020, a player may request a FULL refund for a withdraw up until their starting time on the first day of competition for ANY reason.  After the player's starting time has passed on the first day of competition, refunds will not be granted.
