AGES/ELIGIBILITY

Open to male amateur golfers ages 55 and over as of August 17, 2020.

May 27th  – July 29th     

FIELD SIZE

The low 120 players by handicap index will comprise the field.  The handicap revision in effect at the close of entries will be used to determine the field.

COVID-19 PROCEDURES

Face masks are required in the clubhouse at all times.

In case of a course evacuation, all players will need to proceed to their vehicles during the delay.

 

FORMAT

54 holes of individual stroke play. After 36 holes of play, the field will be cut to the low 60 players and ties.

PRACTICE ROUND

One practice round per player. Practice rounds will be available on the designated times below one week prior to the competition. Please call The Standard Club to reserve your practice round starting time after you have received your acceptance confirmation on after August 4th.  Practice round cart and range fee is $30 plus tax. ONLY credit cards will be accepted.

  • Tuesday – Club will be closed
  • Any day of the week after 1:00 pm.

 

Practice rounds on Sunday, August 16 will be strictly limited to out-of-town players only

YARDAGES & TEES

A combination of tee markers and yardages will be utilized for the championship.  Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition. Practice yardages are available on the event details page.

GOLF SHOP & DRIVING RANGE

The golf shop and driving range will open at 7:30 a.m. on the day of competition.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the GSGA and posted at the club the day before the competition starts. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times beginning on August 13. 

REGISTRATION

No formal registration will be held on site. Player withdraws must be called in or e-mailed to the GSGA office so that an alternate may be contacted.

CARTS

Practice round cart and range fees are $30 plus tax. ONLY credit cards will be accepted. Tournament round cart and range fees are included in the championship fee. 

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY/CART POLICY

FOOD SERVICE

Food service will be available on the scoreboard patio from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All food and beverage purchases are CASH only.

REFUND POLICY

For the remainder of 2020, a player may requestFULL refund for a withdrawal up through their starting time on the first day of competitions for ANY reason.  After the player’s starting time has passed on the first day of competition, refunds will not be granted.

CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION - The following conditions shall be in effect for this competition:

  • GSGA competitions are "spikeless" events. Therefore, metal and traditionally-designed spikes are prohibited. Penalty for breach of this condition is disqualification.
