STABLEFORD SCORING: This event will use a modified Stableford scoring system to determine winners and prizes. Points will be accumulated based on your score for each hole. The player(s) with the highest amount of points within their divisions will be the winners. For the Net portion of scoring, player handicaps will be calculated using 85% of their total course handicaps. The maximum course handicap a player can be issued for this event after the 85% reduction is 21. The stableford point structure is as follows:

  • Double Eagle or better - 8 points
  • Eagle - 5 points
  • Birdie - 3 points
  • Par - 1 point
  • Bogey - 0 points
  • Double Bogey or worse - (-2 points)

When to Pick Up: As you can see above, all scores that are double bogey or worse are worth (-2) points. So once you have reached double bogey on a hole, or even you just wish to pick up and take your max score, please do so. For Championship Division players you will record a double bogey or your most likely score if you feel it would have been higher. For Net/Senior/Silver Division players you have to be aware of what your Net Double Bogey score for a hole would be. That will be the score you need to write down or a higher score if you feel your most likely score was higher. Net Double Bogey factors in your handicap and the stroke allocation holes.

For Example: Your course handicap for the event is a 9. You are playing Hole #10 which is a Par 4 and the #6 handicap hole. As a 9 handicap you receive a stroke on that hole. Which means your Net Double Bogey for that Hole is 7. Hole Par (4) + Double Bogey (2) + Handicap Strokes on that Hole (1) = 7. The starter can answer any questions you may have on this before you tee off or feel free to contact me in advance of the tournament if you wish to go ovr anything.
