COVID-19 CHAMPIONSHIP POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

All contestants should be familiar with the policies and procedures in place.

COVID-19 CHAMPIONSHIP PARTICIPANT WAIVER

All contestants MUST sign the participant waiver prior to arriving at the championship. The waiver will be emailed to all contestants to sign digitally using DocuSign.

REFUND POLICY

Refunds will not be available after Round 1 pairing are released. *Refunds due to COVID-19 will be granted up until a player begins the championship.

COURSE YARDAGE

Course yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions. Hole-by-hole yardages are posted on the portal HERE.

Women’s Amateur Yardage: 6,220 yards, par-72

Women’s Mid-Amateur Yardage: 5,875 yards, par-72

LODGING

ONSITE REGISTRATION

All contestants must register in person with WA Golf at Gold Mountain Golf Club prior to starting round one play. Registration will be located outside the golf shop during the following times:

MONDAY, JUNE 29: 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

TUESDAY, JUNE 30: 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS

Round one and two starting times will be released one week prior on Tuesday, June 23. Contestants will be re-paired by gross scores for the final round, with the leaders starting last. Preferred starting time requests will not be accepted. Starting times will be posted on the WA Golf website (WAgolf.org), on the Championship Portal and will be emailed to each player.

SCHEDULE

54-hole stroke play (gross only). In the event of a tie for the championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following play to determine the winner.

TUESDAY, JUNE 30: Starting times off the #1 tee from 7:30 a.m. – 11:10 a.m.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 1: Starting times off the #1 tee from 11:00 a.m. – 2:40 p.m.

THURSDAY, JULY 2: Starting times off the #1 tee from 7:30 a.m. – 11:10 a.m.

PRACTICE ROUND

All players will be allowed one complimentary practice round prior to the championship. Practice rounds may be played anytime on weekdays and after 12:00 p.m. on weekends. Local contestants are encouraged to play their practice round anytime during the week prior. Consideration will be made for out-of-town players with regard to reserved starting times the day prior to the Championship. Contestants can reserve practice round times directly through the Gold Mountain GC golf shop at (360) 415-5432, beginning on Tuesday, June 23 after the entry deadline. All practice round times are at the discretion of the host club. When making reservations, contestants must identify themselves as a WA Golf Women’s Amateur or Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship participant.

FOOD SERVICE (NO-HOST)

The restaurant will be open each day from 6:30 a.m. until dusk.

BOTTLED WATER

Due to COVID-19, bottled water may be available at limited locations on the golf course for players only (a notification will be sent out prior to the championship with a hydration plan). Snacks and fruit will not be provided. Players are encouraged to bring their own bottled water.

HOSTED LUNCH

A boxed lunch will be given to each player on Wednesday, July 1 between the hours of 11:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Lunches may be picked up anytime in the clubhouse restaurant. Options will be a turkey sandwich or a chicken caesar wrap. Lunches come with a side salad, cup of fruit and cookie.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

Gold Mountain Golf Club accepts all major credit cards and cash as methods of payment.

HOURS OF OPERATION

The golf shop will be open each day from 6:00 a.m. to dusk. The driving range will be open each day from 6:30 a.m. to dusk.

RANGE BALLS

Warm-up range balls will be provided to contestants on the driving range before each round.

CARTS

Carts will be available to Women’s Mid-Amateur participants for $17 per rider per day and will be collected by WA Golf during registration. Please contact WA Golf if you did not register for a cart during registration but would now like to add one.

Women’s Amateur Championship: The Local Rule prohibiting the use of motorized transportation as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect.

SPECTATOR CARTS

To provide an equal championship platform for all competitors, the use of carts by spectators is not permitted by WA Golf.

CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABLED SPECTATORS

WA Golf is committed to providing an enjoyable spectator experience for people with disabilities at WA Golf Championships. Requests from spectators seeking transportation onto the golf course due to a permanent disability, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), should be submitted one week in advance to the WA Golf Championship Department. While spectator carts may not always be available at each site, WA Golf will make every effort to accommodate these requests when available.

Generally, an ADA covered disability is defined as a “physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual”. See, 42 USCA §12102. Spectators with a “temporary” injury or impairment that is not an ADA disability will not be allowed use of a golf cart under this Policy.

PULL CARTS

A limited number of pull carts will be available for rent in the golf shop.

CADDIES

Caddies are permitted, although host club caddies will not be available. Caddies will be required to wear a caddie bib provided on the starting tee.

PRIZES

All prizes will be awarded according to 54-hole scores. The Women’s Amateur is gross only. The Women’s Mid-Amateur is gross and net.

Awards will be given to any contestant who scores a hole-in-one or eagle during the championship.

AWARDS CEREMONY

WA Golf will host an awards ceremony on Thursday, July 2 immediately upon completion of play in each championship.

EXEMPTIONS

Women’s Amateur – Champion will receive an exemption into the 2021 Washington Champion of Champions, the 2021 Washington Women’s Amateur Championship and the 2021 PNGA Women’s Amateur Championship.

Women’s Mid-Amateur – Champion will receive an exemption into the 2021 Washington Champion of Champions, the 2021 Washington Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship and the 2021 PNGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship.

PERFORMANCE POINTS LIST

Points for the Washington Women’s Amateur are allocated as follows: Champion (100), Runner-up (75), Top-5 (50), Top-10 (25), Top-15 (15), and Top-20 (5) finishers.

Points for the Washington Women’s Mid-Amateur are allocated as follows: Awarded to Champion (50), Runner-up (25), and Top-5 (5) finishers.

GHIN SCORE POSTING

WA Golf will post competition scores for all players to the USGA GHIN System.

DRESS CODE

Players and caddies must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing while on host club property. The WA Golf Dress Code Policy is available at the following link: wagolf.org/policies and will be provided to all players, along with any additional measures required by the host club, in the Player Memorandum.

CODE OF CONDUCT

WA Golf expects all contestants, caddies, gallery, and guests to exhibit proper conduct and behavior on the golf course and anywhere on club property during a WA Golf Championship. Unbecoming conduct or behavior may be grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any WA Golf event. The following are some examples of unbecoming conduct or behavior:

Repeated use of loud, abusive, and/or profane language
Throwing and/or breaking equipment (club, ball, etc.) in anger or frustration
Damaging host club, WA Golf, and/or fellow contestant property
Public criticism or verbal abuse of host club, officials, volunteers or staff, and/or WA Golf volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
Potential endangerment of others
Intentionally violating stated club policy
Violation of WA Golf Dress Code and/or Footwear Policy
Other conduct deemed unbecoming

The Committee in charge of the competition shall be the sole judge of determining Conduct Code violations.

UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL

After the entry deadline and during play of the championship, players must notify WA Golf and state her need to withdraw. Entrants who unofficially withdraw (by not notifying WA Golf or without having sufficient reason) will not be granted entry into any future WA Golf Championship for a minimum of two years.

PACE OF PLAY POLICY

Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s Pace of Play Policy, which is in effect at all championships.

LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION
Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s 2020 Local Rules and Terms of the Competition, which will be in effect at all championships.

PROHIBITED USE OF AUDIO EQUIPMENT
Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player is not allowed to use an electronic device to listen to music or other audio (such as podcasts or the like), including by using speakers, headphones or earbuds. Penalty for breach of Local Rule - see Rule 4.3.
