36 holes of individual stroke play using the Modified Stableford scoring system. Overall champion to be determined from the Prairie Fire Division. The event may be shortened to 18 holes if weather cancels either round. Gift certificates from the host club will be awarded in amounts to be determined based on the number of total entries within each division.
Two divisions with Modified Stableford scoring. Players should select their division based on distance of golf course they wish to play and type of scoring preference (see below):
- Prairie Fire Division - any age, approximately 7,000 yard distance course, gross scoring only
- Flint Division - any age, approximately 6,500 yard course distance, gross & net scoring
The golf course will be set-up at approximately:
- 7,000 yards (Prairie Fire Division)
- 6,500 yards (Flint Division)
Modified Stableford Scoring
The Modified Stableford scoring system gives golfers points on each hole, based on golfer's score relative to par. It is designed to reward players for taking chances to go for birdies (or better), as the reward for a low score on a hole is typically greater than the punishment for a poor score. The golfer's score on each hole is added for the round.
The scoring system operates as follows:
- Hole In One: +8
- Double Eagle: +8
- Eagle: +5
- Birdie: +3
- Par: +1
- Bogey: -1
- Double Bogey or worse: -3
Practice rounds are available for $45 plus tax. Please call (785) 776-6475 to arrange a practice round and identify yourself as a participant in the tournament.
