AGA Women's Partners Tournament

For the health and safety of our valued members, volunteers and staff, the Arizona Golf Association has modified tournament protocols going forward to follow the safety precautions established by each facility hosting our events. 

 

 

 

Opening Date: February 1, 2020                                                                                                                                      Closing Date:  November 9, 2020

 

Format Day 1:          

      • 18 holes to be played under Rule 23, Four – Ball Stroke Play, modified Stableford scoring.

Format Day 2:

    • 18 holes of individual stroke play, modified Stableford scoring with aggregate score of partners.
    • Each partner receives 100 percent of their Course Handicap.

 

Eligibility:  The tournament is open to amateur golfers who have a Handicap Index of 54.0 or lower, and are AGA members in good standing.  

 

Handicap:  Revision used for event:  11/9/2020

       

Start Times: There will be a 12:30 p.m. tee time start on Sunday (Day 1) from the #1 and #10 tees.  There will be a 12:00 p.m. tee time start on Monday (Day 2) from the #1 tee.

 

Entry Fee:  $175.00 per player ($350 per team) will include green fees, cart fees, tee prizes, range balls, awards and box lunch prior to play on Monday, November 16, 2020. 

 

Transportation:  We will follow cart policy in place at each individual facility. Motorized carts are included in the fees but players may walk.

 

Caddies and Spectators:  Caddies and spectators will not be allowed in the 2020 Partners Tournament. 

 

Registration:  Registration will be held before play on Sunday, November 15 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

 

Practice rounds will be available, for tournament players only for $65.  You may call six days in advance to schedule a tee time.  Players must mention that you are playing in the AGA event.

 

Lodging:  Players are responsible for making their own lodging arrangements.

Withdrawing from a Tournament - Prior to the Deadline

Members may withdraw from Tournaments by:

  • Calling the AGA office during normal business hours; or
  • Calling the Withdraw Line (602) 944-3035 (ext. 210). Voicemail messages left after 4:30 p.m. will be considered official as of 7:30 a.m. of the following business day.

 

Withdrawing from a Tournament - After the Entry Deadline

  • Withdrawals made after the entry deadline will be considered late withdrawals. 
  • Fees will be returned for a late withdrawal only if the player’s position in the field is filled by an alternate. In any case, an administrative fee of $30 will be deducted from the refund, regardless of the reason for the withdrawal.
  • A withdrawal made less than three days prior to the first day of the event is not eligible for a refund (except when another player can be substituted).

 

Cancellations must be made in writing by email to Le Ann Finger, Senior Director of Tournaments and Championships or by calling the Withdraw Line.  DO NOT CALL THE GOLF COURSE TO WITHDRAW.

 

Exemptions into tournaments shall be granted up to the closing date.  Exemptions apply only to the criteria which determine how the field is set (e.g. Handicap or points).  See the 2020 Tournament Regulations posted on the AGA web site for specific exemptions allowed.

 

Entry acceptance into the Tournament, if oversold, is based on the criteria stated in the 2020 Tournament Regulations listed on the AGA website.  

 

Determining Ties:  Ties for the title of Champion are decided by a hole-by-hole playoff.  All other ties are decided using the recommended USGA tie-breaking procedure of Matching Scorecards (also known as Scorecard Count-Back) as referenced in Section 5A(6) of the Committee Procedures, Rules of Golf.

 

 

Prizes will be awarded to overall champions and net winners as well as by flight.  Flights will be determined by handicap.  A minimum of 33 percent of each flight will be paid.
