PGA of Ontario Code of Conduct


Competitor Code of Conduct of the PGA of Ontario

The policy of the Code of Conduct governs all PGA of Ontario Championships including Team events and Pro-Am’s, and all competitors representing the PGA of Ontario.  The philosophy of this Code of Conduct us to respect the game, maintain golf’s culture and represent the PGA of Ontario in a manner befitting of a golf professional.

 

General

All competitors must conduct themselves both on and off the golf course in a way befitting of the PGA of Ontario as per the PGA ofOntario Code of Professional Practice and PGA of Ontario Rules as agreed upon by signing the championship entry form.  The use of alcohol or contraband is strictly prohibited during all rounds, including Pro-Am’s and practice rounds.

 

Dress Code

All competitors are required to present a neat appearance, in both clothing and personal grooming, and are required at all times to maintain an acceptable standard of dress both on the course and in the precinct of the clubhouse.  Competitors must adhere to the PGA of Ontario Dress code at all times while on-site at any PGA of Ontario event.

 

Pro-Am’s

Any competitors participating in a Pro-Am must conduct themselves according to the provisions listed above, plus any additional regulations presented by the sponsor conducting the Pro-Am. Participating professionals must attend the dinner reception following play unless otherwise noted in writing.

 

Prize Presentation

The top two prize winners in both individual and/or team competitions must be present at the prize presentation, or be subject to forfeiting their prize money to the PGA of Ontario, unless consent is given by the Tournament Director.

 

Disciplinary Committee

All entrants who have been assessed penalties by the disciplinary Committee must make payment before being permitted to play in any competition.

 

Penalties

All penalties must be paid or an appeal must be made before play will be allowed in the next round of the championship or in the next championship.

All penalties will be doubles for the second offence and a third offence may lead to expulsion from competing in future PGA of Ontario Championships.  Penalties apply to championships and practice rounds.

 

Penalties other than monetary value may also be imposed by the Committee for infractions not listed above.

 

Appeals
Appeals must be made in a timely manner to be considered by the PGA of Ontario Appeals Committee.
