Premier Series Eligibility: Open to players from all disability categories with a nationally recognized golf handicap index not more than 28 for men and 36 for women (as of the October 21 revision). A WR4GD Pass through EDGA is also required. GSGA membership and Georgia residency are NOT requirements.

 

Challenge Series Eligibility: Open to seated players with a nationally recognized golf handicap index and an Access or WR4GD Pass through EDGA. GSGA membership and Georgia residency are NOT requirements.

Championship Fee: $175

Format: This championship is a Counting Event on the 2020 WR4GD calendar. Players in the Premier Series will compete in a pan-disability format in separate flights determined by handicap index. Players in the Challenge Series will be seated players. The format will be 36 holes of stroke play competition for players with a handicap index of 18.4 or lower. The format will be 36 holes of Stableford competition for players with a handicap index of 18.5 or higher.

 

Maximum Field Size: 48

 

  • A waiting list will be established if entries exceed maximum field size.

 

Flights: Flights will be determined after the close of entries and will be based on the handicap index as of September 15.

 

Practice Round: The designated practice round date is Thursday, October 15 Thursday, October 29. Practice round cart and range fee is included in the Championship Fee.

Golf Shop & Driving Range: The golf shop and driving range will open at 7:00 a.m. each day of the championship.

 

Starting Times: Starting times for the practice round and championship will be assigned by the GSGA and communicated to all players via email. You may also visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times approximately one week prior to the championship.

 

Opening Ceremony: Due to updated Policies & Procedures relating to COVID-19, a traditional Opening Ceremony will not be possible for this year's championship.

 

Player Reception: Due to updated Policies & Procedures relating to COVID-19, a post-Round 1 Player reception will not be possible for this year's championship.

 

Registration: Formal registration will be held at Bobby Jones Golf Course on Thursday, October 15 Thursday, October 29 (Practice Round).

 

Caddies & Player Aides: Players are responsible for planning for a caddie and/or player aide should they choose to use one. A limited number of player aides can be made available by the GSGA upon advanced request. Players may ride in a cart or walk. Pull carts are permitted, but are not available for rent at Bobby Jones Golf Course.

 

Rules of Play: The 2019 Rules of Golf and the Modified Rules of Golf for Players with Disabilities will be utilized for the championship.

 

Player Hospitality: Snacks, drinks, and other player hospitality will be available throughout the championship for players, caddies, and player aides courtesy of Taylor Industries and John Bell.

 

Food Service: Meals (lunch and dinner) will be available for players throughout the championship courtesy of The Benefit Company.

 

Prizes: Gift certificates will be awarded to the top finishers overall (Championship, Seated, Senior, Stableford, and Women) and in each flight. Gift certificate breakdown will be available the week of the championship.

Refund Policy: For 2020, players may request a FULL refund due to a withdrawal up to their starting time on the first day of competition for ANY reason. After the player's starting time has passed on the first day of competition, refunds will not be granted. Withdrawals must be made by calling the official in-charge, Colton Dean, at 678-324-5973 or via email at cdean@gsga.org
