2020 Father-Son/Daughter Championship Information

 

Participant Waiver *MUST SIGN* - The MGA COVID19 Participant Waiver must be signed and returned by one (1) member of each team who is participating in the 2020 MGA Father-Son/Daughter Championship prior to the start of the Championship. By signing, you are speaking on behalf of both individuals on your team and agree to all of the outlined Policies & Procedures as well as the Release Waiver and Covenant Not to Sue. This waiver is attached to this email and an e-signature link has been provided below. A spearate email will also be sent out as well requesting an e-signature. 

 

2020 MGA COVID-19 Particpant Waiver - Father-Son/Daughter Championship

 

 

Entry Fee: $400 ($414 credit or debit)

Registration Deadline: Friday, June 15, 2020

 

Eligibility: The Father-Son/Daughter Championship is a two-person scramble. Team Relationship: Father/Son; Father/Daughter; Grandfather/Grandson; Grandfather/Granddaughter; Father-in-law/Son-in-law; Father-in-law/Daughter-in-law. At least one team member must be a resident of Mississippi for at least 60 days prior to the first round of the championship. All players must conform to the USGA Rules of Amateur Status. At least one participant of the team is required to have an active GHIN Handicap through a USGA Licensed Mississippi Golf Association Member Club.

 

Format: The tournament is scheduled for 54 holes of two-person scramble stroke play. If conditions necessitate the championship being shortened, it will be done at the conclusion of a stipulated round.

 

Practice Round: Practice rounds are available, please contact Canton Country Club, Patrick Farms, and Deerfield to schedule practice rounds.

 

Championship Divisions: All teams will play in the same division. Teams will be flighted after 36-holes of play based on score. Ties for flight position and prizes will be broken using the USGA recommended method.

 

Back Tee: Male players from 13-59 years old.

Patrick Farms - 6,600 approx.yards, Deerfield - 6,600 approx. yards, Canton CC - 6,300 approx. yards

Middle Tee: Male players 60-69 years old.

Patrick Farms - 5,700 approx yards, Deerfield - 5,800 approx yards, Canton CC - 5,500 approx yards

Front Tee: Boys 9-12, male players 70 years of age and older, and ALL female players 11 years of age & older.

Patrick Farms - 5,300 approx yards, Deerfield - 5,200 approx yards, Canton CC - 5,000 approx yards

Additional Fairway Tee: Boys 8 & under, Girls 10 & under

 

Player Registration: There will be no Player Registration. Players will recieve their tee gift on their starting hole prior to beginning Round 1. Teams are asked to be on their starting hole 5 minutes prior to their time. 

 

Round 1 & 2 Starting Time Waves: Friday Morning plays Saturday Afternoon, Friday Afternoon plays Saturday Morning. We will be using starting times beginning at 8:00AM and 1:00PM.

 

Player Food & Beverage: Lunch will be provided for this Championship each day. Lunch will be served between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19 there will be no buffet lunches provided. Each course will only be providing a box lunch option that will be handed to players by a staff member of the host club. Players will be able to make purchases in the grill using cash or credit.

 

Cart Fees: All cart and green fees are included in the tournament entry fee.

 

Spectator Carts: Spectator carts will not be permitted during this championship with the exception of a spectator who can provide an issued and active Handicap Permit. Final decision will be made by the MGA Staff and also the availability of carts at the host facility.

 

Pairings: Pairings for the opening round will be released and updated on the MGA website by Monday, June 15th. Pairings will also be included in the Player Information that will be emailed to each player by Monday, June 15th.

 

Electronic Measuring Devices: Electronic devices that measure distance only are permitted for this championship.

USGA Groove Condition of Competition (Not in Effect): The USGA groove rules effective January 1, 2010 are NOT in effect for this competition.

 

Withdrawal Policy: In the event of a tournament withdraw; the player must notify the Mississippi Golf Association Office at 601-939-1131. If withdraw is made prior to tournament deadline, the player may receive a refund regardless of reason less a $25 administrative fee. For a withdraw made after the entry deadline, the player WILL NOT receive a refund unless the player has experienced a sudden illness or injury, a signed Doctor's note is provided, and only if the Mississippi Golf Association is notified prior to the first round of the tournament.
