In order to offer as many competitions from the planned schedule as possible until the COVID-19 situation has completely eased, the following philosophy will be employed at each AGA-sponsored event:

  • The AGA will be bound by the Host Facility’s mandates for social distancing.
  • One week in advance of each event, any diversions from normal competition rules will be posted to the website.
  • Any players who wish to withdraw at that time will receive a full refund.

DATES: August 13-16 (Thursday – Sunday)  

 

ENTRY DEADLINE: 6 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2020.

 

FORMAT: 72-hole stroke play Championship, played over four consecutive days (Thursday – Sunday).

Groups will play in threesomes, 9-minute intervals, from No. 1 and No. 10 tees.  

 

The Championship field will be cut to low 60-players plus ties after 36-holes.

Weekend play will be threesomes, 9-minute intervals, from No. 1 tee.

 

Players will be permitted to ride in golf carts, or they may choose to walk, during the Championship. Golf cart rental is included with paid registration. Player carts will be staged near the practice facilities daily.

 

ELIGIBILITY: All players must have an active membership with an AGA Member Club and a USGA Handicap Index of 8 or better at time of registration in order to participate.

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Practice rounds will be available August 3 to August 11 for $60 plus tax per player (before 10 a.m.) and $50 plus tax per player (after 10 a.m.) and may be scheduled three days prior to play.  Please call the golf shop at (480) 502-1800 and identify yourself as an AGA participant to receive the special rate.


PAIRINGS: Official tournament pairings will be emailed to participants by end of day on Monday, Aug. 10.

 

DRIVING RANGE: Practice facility will be available one-hour prior to tee time.

 

PAYOUTS: Tournament Champion will receive a Kachina trophy. Players who make the cut to top 60 plus ties will receive a $50 credit for Titleist merchandise. 

 

 

POSTING SCORES TO GHIN: The Arizona Golf Association tournament staff will post all competition round scores to GHIN following the event. Players should not post competition event scores.

 

CADDIES: Caddies are permitted for the Championship. They must walk at all times unless there is an available seat in one of the player’s carts. Caddies riding in a cart MUST NOT displace a player.

 

GOLF CART USE: Players may walk but are permitted to ride in carts and cart fees are covered in the tournament entry fee. Carts will be staged near the practice facilities each morning of the competition. Maximum of two carts per group and maximum of two riders per cart. Click here for AGA's complete golf cart policy. We will follow the cart policy in place at each individual facility.

 

In addition, the following policies will be enforced:

  1. Spectator carts are not permitted for insurance reasons, NO EXCEPTIONS.
  2. Carts are assigned only to contestants. A caddie may use a cart only if a contestant is not displaced by such use.
  3. Restrictions on cart use for players are at the discretion of the Host Site, and all players are bound by those requirements, subject to withdrawal for violations of that policy. Any such restrictions will be posted at the tournament site.
  4. Two persons per cart only.
  5. Carts must be kept on paths if available near greens and tees.
  6. Any non-player riding with a player is considered a caddie and subject to any potential rules violations.
  7. Pull carts are permitted as long as not in conflict with the Host Club rules.

WITHDRAW POLICY: Prior to the Entry Deadline, players may withdraw from a tournament and receive a full refund by completing the withdraw process on the tournament website, calling the AGA office (602) 944-3035 during normal business hours or calling the Withdraw Line at (602) 944-3035 ext. 210 and leaving a message.

After the Entry Deadline has passed, any withdraw will be considered a “late withdraw.”  Tournament entry fees will only be returned if the player’s position in the field is filled by an alternate. In any case, a $30 administrative fee will be deducted from any tournament entry fee refund, regardless of the reason for withdrawing.
