Father-Son (Younger)

Registration Fee: $155 per team. Entry fee includes cart fee.

 

Format: 18-hole greensome (selective drive, alternate shot) gross and net stroke play, 40 percent of combined handicap. Teams with only one player having a verified Handicap Index will only compete in the Gross Division. There will be two age divisions (13 years of age or younger and 14 to 18 years of age).  The Junior-Junior Division (13 years of age or younger) will compete from a shorter set of tees.  Players may play up with written permission from the GAP Junior Golf Committee.

 

Eligibility: Open to father and son teams (sons must be 18 years of age or younger) and stepfather and stepson teams from GAP Member Clubs - not necessarily from the same club. One member of a team must be a member of a GAP Member Club and listed on the GAP Handicap Report. If the other player has a verifiable USGA Handicap Index, the team may compete for net prizes. Otherwise, it will be restricted to the gross competition only.

 

Teams are not permitted to play in more than one Father & Son event in a calendar year. Players turning 19 before the Father & Son (Younger) must play in the Father & Son (Middle). Players turning 30 after the Father & Son (Older) must play in the Father & Son (Middle). 

 

Field Size: The field is limited to the first 62 teams.  

 

Practice Rounds: Practice rounds have been canceled for the 2020 tournament season.

 

Starting Times: First tee starting only on 11 minute intervals. Beginning at 7:30 am. A father is NOT permitted to enter with two different sons. 

 

Automotive Transportation: Automotive transportation is required. The $35 cart fee has been added to your entry fee.

 

Ties: Ties for low gross in both age groups will be named co-champions. All other ties to be broken by using the USGA recommended scorecard tiebreaking method.
