72nd Junior-Junior Boys' Championship

Registration Fee: $50 per player. 

 

Format: Nine-hole stroke-play qualifying on Day One; 32 players advance to match play (two flights, a Championship Flight and First Flight of 16 players each), which begins on Day Two. Single elimination event; Those who win their opening match on the morning of Day Two continue match play in the afternoon on Day Two. Semifinal matches continue on the morning of Day Three.  All matches are nine holes except for the Final of both flights; 18-hole Final on Day Four.

 

Eligibility: Open to members of GAP Member Clubs who are 10-13 years of age. A player may not have reached his 14th birthday at midnight of the final day of the tournament. A Junior-Junior who participates in the Junior Boys’ Championship is not eligible for the Junior-Junior Boys’ Championship. There isn’t a Handicap Index requirement. 

 

Field Size: Limited to the first 60 entries. 

 

Practice Rounds: Are not available for this event. 

 

Starting Times: Stroke play qualifying, in twosomes only, to begin at 7:30 a.m. with 10-minute intervals starting on No. 1 tee.  Match play begins at 7:30 a.m. off No. 1 tee.

 

Automotive Transportation: Automotive transportation is not permitted in this event. A player may carry his own bag or use a push cart, if the host facility allows the use of push carts.

 

Caddies: Are not be permitted.

 

Spectators: Spectators will not be permitted; except that any player who requires assistance in transportation to the tournament site may authorize one, and not more than one person, to spectate at the event, but only if such person is a member of the player’s immediate family and living in the same household as the player, provided that in all such circumstances such person may not provide any assistance to the player, may not indicate the line of play, may not handle the player’s clubs or equipment, and may not otherwise provide any services normally provided by a caddie.

 

Spectator Carts: One cart will be permitted for 1 chaperone for a player who requires transportation to the tournament.

 

Prizes: Low gross for qualifying. Winner and runner-up in each flight.

 

Ties: Ties for final qualifying positions in stroke play will be determined based on size of field.  All ties in match play will proceed to extra holes.
