UTAH SENIOR STATE AMATEUR QUALIFYING

ENTRY FEE
$155 per player.
- $65 for qualifying
- $90 to advance to championship
Each successful qualifier will automatically be placed in the Championship field and their card will be charged $90. There will be no need to register for the championship once you have qualified.
FORMAT
18-Hole Stroke Play Qualifying
ELIGIBILITY
All entrants must be members of the UGA and be 50/65 years of age at the start of the championship proper.
STATE AMATEUR QUALIFYING
Seniors playing in this qualifier who wish to attempt to qualify for the State Amateur on the same day, please read below:
1. You can attempt to qualify for the Utah State Amateur by paying both entry fees. You will play one qualifying round and that score will count for both qualifiers. You will be teeing off towards the end of the morning wave.
2. If you choose not to qualify for the Utah State Amateur on the same day, you can always sign up for a different State Amateur Qualifier on a different day.
3. Both the regular and senior qualifiers will be played from the same yardages.
*If you wish to qualify for the State Amateur on the same day, please sign up for that qualifier separately.
STARTING TIMES
Starting times will be e-mailed to players after the registration deadline has passed. Starting times for this qualifier will take place in the morning.
PRACTICE ROUNDS
Players will be responsible for scheduling their practice round by calling the host club. Any practice round fee will be the responsibility of the player.
FLIGHT INFORMATION
The tournament will have a Championship Division (age 50+, gross only), a Super-Senior Division (age 65+, gross only), a Net Division (age 50+, net only), and a Women's Championship Division (age 50+, gross only). Players must designate on their entry if they choose to play in the Championship, Super-Senior, Net, or Women's Championship. The best Handicap Index effective from the last 6 months will be used for course handicap calculation for the Net Division for qualifiers and the championship.
QUALIFYING SITE ASSIGNMENTS
Players may compete at one (1) of the regional qualifiers of their choice; registration is on a first come first serve basis. The Glen Eagle and River Oaks qualifiying sites will also serve as Senior Women's Qualifiers. Please note that entries are limited to the first 60 players for the Fox Hollow Qualifier, 42 for the Sky Mountain Qualifier, and 75 for the Davis Park and Glenmoor Qualifier. If a player’s desired site is full he may choose to be placed on the waitlist (determined in registration date order) or he/she may register for another site on a space available basis. Players will not be placed on a waitlist if they are currently active in another qualifying field.
QUALIFYING
A total of 32 players in the Championship division,16 in the Net and Super Senior divisions, and 8 in the Women's Division will advance to the finals. The number of qualifying spots at each site will be determined by percentage. There will be playoffs immediately following play at each site to determine the final qualifying spots and alternates for the Championship. Players must be present, ties will not be taken.** Alternate positions will be selected by the qualifying site that would have the next spot in a match play field.
REFUNDS & WITHDRAWALS
If a player withdrawals prior to the registration deadline the player will receive a refund minus a $20 cancellation fee. After the deadline, the player will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be issued if a player withdraws/no-shows on the day of the event. A business day starts at 12:01 am of that day. In team competitions, if a player needs a substitute for his original partner after the field has closed; he must arrange to get the substitute. Any substitute must meet all eligibility requirements of the specified competition. The UGA must be notified of any substitutions prior to the start of the tournament.
