2020 Arkansas Women's Match Play

Eligibility: All players must be individual members of ASGA and full-time residents of the state of Arkansas. Non-residents are not eligible, with the following exception: a person may live across the state line, such as Texarkana, Texas, but must be a member of the Texarkana Country Club and an individual ASGA member. The minimum age is 16 unless approved by the ASGA Women’s Committee.
Format: Participants will play an 18-hole qualifying round on Sunday, July 12th. The round for the qualifying will be two 9-hole rounds and in the event of inclement weather, the qualifying score could be a 9-hole score. If field size allows, the top eight (8) qualifiers in each division will comprise the Championship Flight of that division. The next eight (8) will comprise the First Flight and so on. To be eligible to compete for an Arkansas Women’s Match Play Title the player must be in that respective ‘Championship” Flight.
Entry Fee: The entry fee of $200 per player includes cart fees for all tournament rounds, range balls each day, and a lunch. Following the first round of matches there will be a consolation bracket for all divisions where field size allows.
Entry Deadline: Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. Players may submit entry forms via mail or online at www.asga.org with a credit card.
Carts/Caddies: As of 6/20/2020, based on Covid-19, the ASGA is requiring all competitors to ride alone during competition. Caddies will not be allowed during this championship, all spectators must walk and are limited to two spectators per player.
Schedule/Starting Times:
Sunday, July 12th – Qualifying Round: All qualifying will be tee times (all respective match play brackets will be determined based on the qualifying round). Contestants will be emailed tee times/pairings for Monday’s matches.
Monday, July 13th – First round matches for all brackets Tee times will begin at 8:00 am. Winners will advance in their bracket and based on field size consolation brackets will be made for the following day as well. Contestants will be emailed tee times/pairings for Tuesday’s matches.
Tuesday, July 14th – Semi-final matches and Consultation bracket matches (Winners will advance to the finals of each flight played and will play on Tuesday. Losers will be eliminated) Tee times will begin at 8:00 am. Contestants will be emailed tee times/pairings for Wednesday’s matches. Lunch will be provided after play.
Wednesday, July 15th – Final matches. Tee times will begin at 8:00 am. There will be no official Awards Ceremony as in the past due to social distancing guidelines.
Gift Certificates/Awards: Gift Certificates will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place finishers in each winner’s bracket as well as 1st and 2nd place in each consolation bracket. Qualifying medalists in all divisions will receive an award.
Practice Rounds: Please contact Ponce De Leon Golf Course to arrange a practice round. Monday July, 6th with tee times only available after 12pm (Call tee time office @ 501-922-2858 to set up tee times) will be $38 + tax (Includes greens, cart & range token) payable at the golf course.
