Fourth WPGA Men’s & Women’s Net Championships

The competition is 18 holes. The field is 42 contestants in the Men's Net Championship and 7 in the Women’s Net Championship. Additional information will be distributed on the starting tee. The championship will be tee times begining at 7:30 AM. Please note the schedule below. The entry fee includes golf, cart fee, practice range fee, lunch, trophies to the winners and merchandise prizes. Flights have been filled automatically by Handicap Index based on the August 21, 2020 revision. There are three (3) flights in the Net Championship and one (1) flights in the Women's Net Championship. All players will compete for the overall Net Championship.

 

There are 11 teams competing in the Net Team Championship.

 

Schedule:
Range Opens: 6:45 AM
Tee Times: 7:30 AM - 10:10 AM
Lunch and prizes following golf

 

Format: 18 holes of Net Stableford Stroke Play. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Contestants in the Men’s Championship will compete for the flight championships and the Overall Net Championship. Contestants in the Women’s Net Championship will compete for flight championships ad the Overall Net Championship. 

 

Tee Markers: All players in the Net Championship will compete from the BLUE WPGA tee markers (approximately 6,000 yards), and all players in the Women’s Net Championship will play from the WHITE WPGA tee markers (approximately 5,100 yards).

 

Practice Rounds: Practice rounds are can be scheduled by contacting the Green Oaks Country Club golf shop at 412-793-2200. Practice rounds are available after 3 PM on Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30. The practice round fee is $50. The PGA Professional is Ed Habjan.

 

Transportation/Caddies: Automotive transportation is permitted for the championship. Cart fees are included in the entry fee and no refunds are issued to players who choose to walk. Caddies are not permitted for the Championship.

 

Food: The WPGA provides  lunch for players only.  All other food and beverage charges are the responsibility of the player.

 

Footwear: METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION.

Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes (4:20). A pace of play checkpoint system will be in place for the competition. The Pace of Play Policy can be found HERE.

 

Evacuation Plan: In the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation, all others players should return immediately to the clubhouse.
 

Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.
 

Spectator Info: No spectators will be permitted for the Championship.
