Thank you for your entry into the 37th Oregon Senior Amateur Championship, September 7 – 10, 2021 at Arrowhead Golf Club.  Enclosed you will find your starting time for the stroke play qualifying round on Tuesday, September, 7th.

 

 

You will be completing an 18-hole stroke play qualifying round to determine the match play draws.  There will be a playoff immediately following play on Tuesday in the event of a tie for the last qualifying spot into the championship flight, and/or a tie for the medalist.  The last place in additional flights will be determined by a scorecard playoff.  The defending champion, Pat O’Donnell, will assume the #2 seed in match play, if desired.

Practice Round: Players may call the Arrowhead Golf Shop (503-829-8080), to make practice round arrangements.  Practice rounds can be scheduled on a space available basis the week prior and after 3:00 p.m. Friday – Monday.  Contestants are eligible for one complimentary practice round. Practice rounds are for contestants only and will not be extended to guests, caddies, or family members.  Players who wish to use their practice round are expected to abide by all club rules including pace of play.

Registration: All contestants are required to register in person prior to play in order to pick up their contestant packet and tee prize.  Registration will be Tuesday, Sept. 7th from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

 

Food Service: The OGA will host lunch for all contestants on Tuesday and Wednesday.

 

Golf Carts: Unless reserved during registration, all carts can be rented on a first come first served basis. Due to limited number of carts, players will be asked to pair up. Please pay the appropriate fee to the golf shop at the time of rental and abide by any cart rules posted by the host club.

 

Caddies: You may bring your own; Arrowhead will not have caddies available.

 

Practice Range: The driving range will be open approximatley one hour before the first starting time each day during the championship.  Complimentary warm up range balls will be made available to contestants prior to each round courtesy of the OGA. 

 

Dress Code: Proper attire must be worn at all times.  Proper attire does not include spandex body wear, cutoffs, running shorts, short-shorts, tank tops, tee shirts, or denim of any kind or color, or unkempt clothing of any kind.  Neat and clean pants, slacks, cords, or appropriately hemmed, tailored shorts no more than 6 inches above the knee (men’s shorts must have a minimum of three pockets) are acceptable, as are sweaters and sweatshirts, golf shirts (men’s must have collars).  Shoes must be worn at all times. 

 

OGA Pace of Play Guidelines: will be in effect during the championship.  Pace of Play Policy is enclosed and also will be available before each round at the starter’s tent.

Score Posting: will be done by the OGA for each round after the championship has been completed.  The OGA will post each player’s adjusted score to GHIN as a tournament score, for handicapping purposes.  For score posting purposes only, players are required to keep their hole-by-hole scores during match play.
