FAQ’s

 

 

How is the field determined?

The field will be the first paid 48 teams. Teams will be flighted and seeded based on the team’s combined handicap index.

 

How are winner(s) determined?

Each flight will consist of six teams. Each team will play the other five teams in 9-hole matches. Win the hole you get 1 point, ties ½ point, lose the hole and get 0 points. The sixth match will based upon points – team with the most points plays team with the second most, third vs. four, five vs. six.

 

Do I have to have a USGA Index?

Anyone who does not have a certified USGA or International index will compete as a scratch golfer.

 

What indexes are used?

The tournament will use your October 1st 2021 handicap revision. Players will receive 90% of their handicap. Matches will play off the low handicap. Example: If Chad (4-hcp) and Jake (6) are on a team, competing against Scott (3) and Brandon (9), Scott is the low handicapper. He will get zero handicap, Chad will get 1, Jake 3 and Brandon 6.

 

Is there a maximum index allowed?

Yes – the maximum index will be 19.5 per player.

 

What is my course rotation?

Course rotation is based upon the flight you are in. Matches will be played on Bandon Dunes, Pacific Dunes, Bandon Trails & Sheep Ranch. Additional rounds are available before and after the competition.  One discounted pre-tournament round and others can be scheduled through our Central Reservations Department by calling (877) 724-5058. Standard rates apply.

 

What do the winners receive?

Winners of the event will receive a payout in the form of Bandon Dunes Golf Resort gift cards.

 

Can I use a distance measuring device?

Yes – players can use a rangefinder or other distance measuring device as long as it does not calculate elevation yardages, wind speed or recommend club selection.

 

What happens in the event of a tie?

All ties will be broken by a scorecard playoff from the two teams’ head-to-head match using the USGA recommended procedure.
