Championship to determine the top Women's Mid-Amateur in Louisiana in 2021.
Field/Format: Limited to the first 40 entries. All competitors will play 36 holes of stroke play over two days (May 22-23). All competitors will be pre-flighted based upon the May 1, 2021 World Handicap System revision, Any player with a WHS Index of 8.0 or lower will be placed into the Championship Flight. Any player 50 years or older may opt out of Championship flight. Players with a 8.0 handicap index or greater that wish to play in the Championship Flight may do so and must indicate prior to the first round of competition. All non-Championship Flight competitors will be flighted according to their handicap indexes and will play from a forward set of tees.
Entry Deadline: Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 5 PM CST.
Entry Fee, Withdrawal/Refunds: Entry fee of $200 which includes cart fee for practice round and tournament play. Entry fee will be refunded regardless of reason if LGA office is notified, in writing, before the close of entries (May 11, 2021). After the close of entries, fee will be refunded only in the event of injury or illness provided notification (accompanied by a doctor's statement) reaches LGA offices by May 21, 2021. A $70 service charge will be deducted from all refunds. Pairings and starting times will be emailed to each accepted entry on or about May 15, 2021.
Dress Code: Competitors must be neat in appearance and wear appropriate attire. No gym shorts, blue jeans, tee shirts, etc. Important Note: OakWing is a spikeless facility and all competitors will be required to wear spikeless shoes.
Eligibility: Entries are open to any Louisiana resident (as of at least 90 days prior to the Championship) who is an amateur golfer (as defined by the USGA and The R&A) holding membership in a LGA Member Club in good standing (2021 club and individual dues must be paid). Entrants must be 25 years of age by midnight, May 21, 2021, and possess a certified WHS Index of 40.0 or less. Non-amateurs are not eligible. Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the Championship) by the LGA. Reasons for rejection may include unbecoming conduct.
Practice Privileges: Practice privileges are extended to participants in the Championship at OakWing Golf Club on May 21, 2021. Cart fee paid by LGA. Contact the golf shop at OakWing on or after May 15, 2021 to schedule a practice round. Pairings and starting times for first round of play will be posted at OakWing, Friday, May 21, 2021. Pairings and starting times will also be emailed to participants on or about May 15 and posted on the LGA's website, www.LGAgolf.org. Prizes/Playoff: The Women's Mid-Amateur Champion will receive a crystal trophy and the Mid-Amateur prepetual trophy to be kept at the champions home club for one year.
Rules of Golf: Play will be governed by the current USGA Rules of Golf and LGA Rules of Play Card. All questions will be settled by the LGA Rules Committee, whose decision will be final.
