2021 WA Golf Men’s Net Four-Ball Match Play

 

A new event bringing flexibility, inclusiveness, and camaraderie to golfers in Washington & Northern Idaho. Choose the course, choose the tees, choose the time, and climb the bracket to the final weekend!

Event Details

 

Eligibility: Entries are open to teams of male golfers who have an up-to-date USGA Handicap Index issued by WA Golf not exceeding 54.0. Players must reach their 18th birthday by March 1, 2021.

 

Dates: March 1 – October 3, 2021

 

Format: Single Elimination – Net Four-Ball Match Play Tournament, 4 Regions, 64 Teams Per Region (32 teams in Central and Eastern regions). First Five Rounds Schedule-Your-Own-Match, Final Three Rounds at The Home Course Friday, October 1st – Sunday, October 3rd.

 

Handicaps: Players will receive 85% of their course handicap for net scoring. All matches will be played off of the low Playing Handicap in the group: All players will determine the tee they would like to play. Handicap Indexes will be used as they stand the day of the match. The GHIN Mobile App must be used to determine playing handicaps from each player’s selected tee. PLEASE REFERENCE THE HANDICAP CALCULATOR GUIDE

 

Regional Breakdown

 

Each team will select a region to compete in, based on their location. Teams and partners are encouraged to select a region in which they reside.

 

  • South Sound – Pierce, Thurston, Kitsap, Clallam, Jefferson, Skamania, Clark, Cowlitz, Pacific, Mason, Grays Harbor and Wahkiakum counties
  • North Sound – King, Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Island and San Juan counties
  • Central – Okanogan, Chelan, Douglas, Kittitas, Grant, Yakima, Benton, Klickitat, Walla Walla and Franklin counties
  • Eastern – Spokane, Ferry, Stevens, Pend Oreille, Lincoln, Adams, Whitman, Garfield, Columbia, Asotin and Northern Idaho

 

Entry Fee: $100 per team

 

Entries Open: Monday, January 25th at 9:00 a.m.

 

$10,000* Merchandise Payout: Awarded to teams reaching the semifinals and finals in each of the four regions. *$10,000 payout based on a full field. Payouts made in the form of merchandise credit to The Home Course golf shop.

 

Entry Deadline: Central and Eastern region deadlines extended until March 9th, or until filled. North Sound and South Sound regions are full.

 

Entry Includes (each team): Two WA Golf Net Four-Ball Match Play logoed hats, Two WA Golf Net Four-Ball Match Play logoed towels, The final eight teams in both the men’s and women’s brackets will receive an invitation to compete in the Regional Finals, Semifinals and Final Matches at The Home Course during the weekend of October 1-3, 2021. Lodging, golf, cart fees, and lunch will be covered for all teams that reach the Regional Finals!

    Round Three – Begins: Wednesday, June 9th | Ends: Sunday, July 18th

    Round Four – Begins: Wednesday, July 21st | Ends: Sunday, August 22nd

    Round Five – Begins: Wednesday, August 25th | Ends: Sunday, September 19th

    REGIONAL FINALS – Friday, October 1st @ The Home Course

    FINAL FOUR MATCHES – Saturday, October 2nd @ The Home Course

    FINAL MATCHES – Sunday, October 3rd @ The Home Course

 

Scheduling Matches: At the start of each round, WA Golf staff will email both teams involved exchanging contact information. Teams will then have seven days to schedule their match in the five-to-eight-week window. WA Golf staff will also provide a list of courses in the region that are offering WA Golf Pass deals. If the two teams involved in the match cannot decide on a course, WA Golf Staff will decide a course for the match. If a date cannot be decided on, the match will be decided by coin flip.
