Welcome to the 6th Oregon Amateur Four-Ball Championship, August 26 – 29, 2021, at Juniper Golf Club.

 

 Attached you will find your starting time for the stroke play qualifying round on Thursday,  August 26th.  All three divisions will be completing an 18-hole qualifying round in order to determine the low 32 qualifying teams in the Open Division championship bracket, the low 16 qualifying teams in the Senior Men’s Division championship bracket and the low 16 qualifying teams for the Women’s Division championship bracket.  There will be a playoff in the event of a tie for the last qualifying spot in the Senior Division championship bracket and for any medalist sides in any Division.   

 

All remaining teams in the Senior Division will be put into their own match flight brackets of 8 and 4 teams that will be based on score.  All divisions will have a drop flight for those sides that lose their first round match, each team will play two matches.

MATCH PLAY STARTING TIMES: Players should expect to receive a text message and/ or email with their starting time for Friday’s match. They will also be posted on the OGA website oga.org. Please be mindful that the timely generation of Friday’s pairings and starting times will be affected by any playoffs that may take place for the final qualifying berths. PRACTICE ROUND: Players may call the Juniper Golf Club at 541-548-3121 to make practice round arrangements. Practice rounds will be available on a space available basis on Wednesday, August 25th.  Practice rounds are for contestants only and will not be extended to guests, caddies, or family members. You must identify yourself as a Four-Ball Championship Contestant in order to receive your complimentary practice round. Players who wish to use their practice round are expected to abide by all club rules including pace of play.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION & RESULTS: Will all be provided digitally on the OGA’s website or through the USGA Tournament Management App, GGID: 21OR4-BALL.

 

PRACTICE:  The OGA will host warm up range balls for contestants. Limited time on driving range and practice putting green prior to round will be permitted.

 

REGISTRATION: There will not be any registration, tee prizes will be handed out after the first round.

 

OGA HOSTED LUNCH: The OGA will host lunch for all contestants on Thursday, August 26 and Friday, August 27.

 

ADDITIONAL FOOD & BEVERAGE: The Juniper Golf Club restaurant will be open during the Championship.

 

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION: Carts will be available on a first come first serve basis. Please pay the appropriate fee at the time of rental. Participants who live in the same residence or who arrived together will be allowed to share the same cart. Otherwise single riding carts will be available.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT: Contestants are expected to (1) know and play by the Rules of Golf, (2) conduct themselves at all times in a sportsmanlike manner, (3) respect the golf course and the rights of other contestants, (4) fulfill their playing obligations and (5) know and abide by the OGA Pace of Play Policy. If the Committee considers that a player is guilty of a serious breach of etiquette, including but not limited to unsportsmanlike conduct (cheating, damaging the golf course, defacing club property, using loud obscene language, throwing clubs, consuming alcoholic beverages when such consumption: is prohibited by the host facility, is offensive to the contestants fellow competitors and/or causes the contestant’s behavior to become offensive, etc.), it may impose a penalty of DISQUALIFICATION and possible suspension from future play in OGA Championships. Any disciplinary actions imposed on a contestant by the OGA may be formally communicated to a representative of the contestant’s club and/or to any other allied golf association that the OGA deems appropriate.

 

CONDITIONS & SCHEDULES: The OGA assumes no liability for any conditions of the competition. Upon submitting this entry and subsequently playing in this competition, players agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the OGA and its respective affiliates directors, officers, employees, agents, and assigns from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities and losses, including, without limitation reasonable attorney’s fees and costs and expenses of litigation, arising out of any negligent act or omission of the indemnifying party in connection with the conditions herein. The OGA Tournament Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein. The decision of the Committee in any matter shall be final.

 

DRESS CODE: Proper attire must be worn at all times.  Proper attire does not include spandex body wear, cutoffs, running shorts, short-shorts, tank tops, tee shirts, or denim of any kind.  Neat and clean pants, slacks, cords, or appropriately hemmed, tailored shorts are acceptable, as are sweaters and golf shirts with a collar.  Shoes must be worn at all times. Competitors in violation of this policy will not be permitted to begin play and may have their entry revoked should a violation occur before the close of competition.  In addition to the competitor, a player’s caddie is also required to adhere to the OGA Dress Code. The OGA reserves the right to determine what is and what is not suitable attire and may prohibit the play of a contestant unsuitably attired.

 

CANCELLATIONS: We expect all entrants to complete their rounds and fulfill their playing obligations.  If for some reason you are forced to withdraw during the Championship, please notify an OGA Official as soon as possible.
