2021 Junior Amateur Championship Information
Entry Fee: $150 ($156 credit or debit)
Registration Deadline: Monday, July 12, 2021
Eligibility: All participants must be a resident of Mississippi and a MJGA member to play in this event. This event is open to all MS juniors ages 18 and under. Participants must be a bona fide resident of the state of Mississippi for at least 60 days prior to the first round of the tournament.
Format: The tournament is scheduled for 54 holes of individual stroke play for Divisions Boys A,B,C, and Girls 13-18. The tournament is scheduled for 27 holes of individual stroke play(9-holes each day) for Divisions Boys and Girls D and E. If conditions necessitate the championship being shortened, it will be done at the conclusion of a stipulated round.
Practice Round: Practice rounds are available on Sunday, July 18th at a rate of $20/Walking or $40/riding + tax per player. Please contact Hattiesburg Country Club to schedule practice rounds.
Championship Divisions: Boys A (16-18), Boys B (14-15), Boys C (12-13), Boys D (10-11), Boys E (9 & under), Girls A (16-18), Girls B (13-15), Girls D (10-12), Girls E (9 & under)
Player Registration: Player Registration will take place from 10:00AM - 4:00PM on Sunday, July 18th outside of the golf shop.
Player Food & Beverage: Players will be provided lunch for all 3 rounds of the Championship. All other F&B purchases can be made using cash or credit card.
Cart Fees: Players are required to walk for this event
Spectator Carts: Spectator Carts will be on a first come first serve basis. Spectators will need to pay Hattiesburg CC directly for use of the cart.
Caddies: Caddies are only permitted for Divisions Boys E and Girls E during the championship. Players are responsible for supplying their own caddie.
Pairings: Pairings for the opening round will be released and updated on the MGA website by Tuesday, July 13th. Pairings will also be included in the Player Information that will be emailed to each player by Tuesday, July 13th.
Electronic Measuring Devices: Electronic devices that measure distance only are permitted for this championship.
USGA Groove Condition of Competition (Not in Effect): The USGA groove rules effective January 1, 2010 are NOT in effect for this competition.
Withdrawal Policy: In the event of a tournament withdraw; the player must notify the Mississippi Golf Association Office at 601-939-1131. If withdraw is made prior to tournament deadline, the player may receive a refund regardless of reason less a $25 administrative fee. For a withdraw made after the entry deadline, the player WILL NOT receive a refund unless the player has experienced a sudden illness or injury, a signed Doctor's note is provided, and only if the Mississippi Golf Association is notified prior to the first round of the tournament.
