2021 State Games Junior Championship Information

 

 

Entry Fee: $103 (18-Hole) & $78 (9-Hole)

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, May 26, 2021

 

Eligibility: Every MJGA Tournament has its own precise tournament eligibility rules (i.e., age requirement, gender, etc.). Please check the eligibility requirements for the particular event you are interested in for more details. Otherwise, general eligibility guidelines for MJGA events are as follows: - Participants must be male or female amateurs 18 years old or younger. - Participants must be bona fide residents of the state of Mississippi for at least 60 days prior to the first day of the tournament. - Participants must be a member of the Mississippi Junior Golf Association

 

Format: The tournament is scheduled for 36 holes of stroke play for Boys 12-18 and Girls 13-18. The tournament is scheduled for 18 holes of stroke play for Boys 11 and Under and Girls 12 and Under (Divisions D and E).

 

Practice Round: Practice rounds are available on Monday, May 31st at a rate of $20/Walking & $40/Riding + tax per player. Please contact Deerfield Golf Club to schedule practice rounds.

 

Championship Divisions & Yardages: 

Boys Division A 16 – 18 year olds, Division B 14 – 15 year olds: these groups will play 18 holes from a tee measuring 6,600 – 7,000 yards in total course length. Division C 12 – 13 Boys and Girls 13-18 year olds will play 18 holes from a tee measuring 5,800-6,000 yards in total course length.

Division D 10 – 11 Boys and Girls 10-12 year olds will play 9 holes from the forward tees.

Division E 9 & under Girls and Boys will play 9 holes from 100 – 300 yards per hole.

 

A player may play up one age group if they desire. This must be indicated when entering.

 

Player Registration: There will be no Player Registration on Monday, May 31st. Player Registration will be setup outside the golf shop on Tuesday morning. All players will need to register prior to their starting times to receive their tee gift. 

 

Player Food & Beverage: There will be no Food & Beverage provided for this Championship. Players may make purchases in the grill using cash or credit.

 

Cart Fees: All players must walk for this event.

 

Spectator Carts: Spectator carts will not be permitted durirng this event.

 

Caddies: 9-Hole Divisions are the only divisions permitted to have a caddie during the championship.

 

Pairings: Pairings for the opening round will be released and updated on the MGA website by Friday May 28. Pairings will also be included in the Player Information that will be emailed to each player by Friday, May 28th.

 

Electronic Measuring Devices: Electronic devices that measure distance only are permitted for this championship.

 

USGA Groove Condition of Competition (Not in Effect): The USGA groove rules effective January 1, 2010 are NOT in effect for this competition.

 

Withdrawal Policy: If a player withdraws prior to the entry deadline he will receive a full refund, minus a $10.00 administrative fee. If a player withdraws after the entry deadline has passed, the player will not receive a refund.
