2021 Women’s State Amateur Championship Information

 

 

Entry Fee: $225 ($233 credit or debit)

Registration Deadline: Friday, June 4, 2021

 

Eligibility: The Women's State Amateur is open to female amateurs who are residents of the State of Mississippi for at least 60 days prior to June 11, 2021. All participants in Mississippi Golf Association State Championships are required to have an active GHIN Number through a Licensed Mississippi Member Club. 

 

Format: The tournament is scheduled for 54 holes of individual stroke play. If conditions necessitate the championship being shortened, it will be done at the conclusion of a stipulated round.

 

Practice Round: Practice rounds are available on Monday June 7th through Thursday, June 10th at a rate of $30 per player. Please contact Dancing Rabbit Club to schedule practice rounds at 601-663-0011. 

 

Course: The Oaks

 

Championship Divisions: Championship - app.5,500-6,000 yards,  Regular - app. 5,200-5,499 yards

 

Player Registration: Player Registration will take place from 10:00AM - 3:00PM on Thursday, June 10th directly inside the clubhouse.

 

Clubhouse: Player will have access to lockers inside the clubhouse for the duration of the championship. Players will also be able to purchase Food & Drink inside the clubhouse using cash or credit. 

 

Per the request of Dancing Rabbit, all players are asked to wear masks while inside the clubhouse unless they have been fully vaccinated.

 

Player Food & Beverage:  Players Welcome Reception will be from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at the Pavillion behind the driving range on Thursday, June 10th. A Player Award Luncehon will take place following play on Sunday at the Pavillion behind the driving range. 

 

Cart Fees: All cart and green fees are included in the tournament entry fee.

 

Spectator Carts: Spectator carts will not be permitted during this championship with the exception of a spectator who can provide an issued and active Handicap Permit. Final decision will be made by the MGA Staff and also the availability of carts at the host facility.

 

Caddies: Caddies are permitted during the championship. Players are responsible for supplying their own caddie. Caddies may ride in golf carts if it adheres to the MGA cart policy and there is an available seat. * MGA Cart Policy - there will be a maximum of 2 carts per group and 2 individuals per cart. *

 

Pairings: Pairings for the opening round will be released and updated on the MGA website by Monday, June 7th. Pairings will also be included in the Player Information that will be emailed to each player by Monday, June 7th.

 

Electronic Measuring Devices: Electronic devices that measure distance only are permitted for this championship.

 

USGA Groove Condition of Competition (Not in Effect): The USGA groove rules effective January 1, 2010 are NOT in effect for this competition.

 

Withdrawal Policy: In the event of a tournament withdraw; the player must notify the Mississippi Golf Association Office at 601-939-1131. If withdraw is made prior to tournament deadline, the player may receive a refund regardless of reason less a $25 administrative fee. For a withdraw made after the entry deadline, the player WILL NOT receive a refund unless the player has experienced a sudden illness or injury, a signed Doctor's note is provided, and only if the Mississippi Golf Association is notified prior to the first round of the tournament.
