COVID-19 CHAMPIONSHIP POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

All contestants should be familiar with the policies and procedures in place.

 

COVID-19 CHAMPIONSHIP PARTICIPANT WAIVER

All contestants MUST sign the participant waiver prior to arriving at the championship. The waiver will be emailed to all contestants to sign digitally using SignNow.

Senior Championship – 33 participants
Super Senior Championship – 15 participants

 

ENTRY DEADLINE

Entry applications, along with the appropriate fee, must be completed or received by WA Golf by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

 

REFUND POLICY

Refunds due to cancellation before the close of entry are subject to a $10 service charge. After the close of entry and up until round one pairings are released, refunds for documented and approved medical reasons are subject to a $25 service charge. No refund for any reason will be issued after round one pairings have been released.

 

COURSE YARDAGE

Course yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions. Hole-by-hole yardages are posted on the championship portal and will be emailed to players.

Senior Women’s Yardage: 5,222 yards, par-71

Super Senior Women’s Yardage: 5,001 yards, par-71

 

ONSITE REGISTRATION

All contestants must register in person with WA Golf at Fairwood Golf & Country Club prior to the championship. Registration will be located outside the golf shop during the following times:

MONDAY, JUNE 14 – 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

TUESDAY, JUNE 15 – 7:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS

Round one starting times will be released on Tuesday, June 8. Contestants will be re-paired by gross scores for the final round, with the leaders starting last. Preferred starting time requests will not be accepted. Starting times will be posted on the WA Golf website (WAgolf.org), on the Championship Portal and will be emailed to each player.

 

SCHEDULE

36-hole stroke play (gross only). In the event of a tie for the championship, a hole-by-hole playoff will be held immediately following play to determine the winner.

TUESDAY, JUNE 15 – Senior: 11:40 a.m. – 1:20 p.m. | Super Senior: 1:30 p.m. – 2:10 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 16 – Super Senior: 7:30 a.m. – 8:10 a.m. | Senior: 8:20 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

 

PRACTICE ROUND

Contestants may play one complimentary practice round prior to the championship. Practice rounds will be available on Monday, June 14 after 11:00 a.m. for out of town contestants. Local contestants can play a practice round between June 4 – June 13 after 1:00 p.m. All practice round starting times are at the discretion of the golf shop staff. Tee times can be made by calling the Fairwood G&CC golf shop at (425) 226-9700, beginning on June 2 after the entries have closed and field is set.

 

All players will receive a complimentary course yardage guide with their practice round.

 

FOOD SERVICE (NO-HOST)

Monday, June 14: Grab and go options available from 10:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. in the golf shop.

Tuesday, June 15 – Wednesday June 16: Grab and go breakfast options from 6:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the golf shop. The restaurant will be open for full menu service from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

 

BOTTLED WATER

WA Golf will provide bottled water during the championship. Coolers will be at multiple locations on the golf course. A beverage cart will not be on the course during play. 

 

CONTESTANTS’ LUNCH

WA Golf will host a meal for all competitors following the second round on Wednesday, June 16 with indoor seating, outdoor seating and to-go options. Players may eat anytime between 12:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. off of a limited menu.

 

METHODS OF PAYMENT

All major credit cards and cash. All WA Golf Women’s Amateur participants will receive 10% off golf shop member pricing during June 14-16.

 

HOURS OF OPERATION

The golf shop will open from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. each day. The driving range will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 14 and from 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15 – Wednesday, June 16.

 

RANGE BALLS

Warm up range balls will be provided to contestants on the driving range before each round.

 

CARTS

Players and caddies may ride in a golf cart. Cart fees are $25 per cart/day. Fees will be collected during registration. Carts will be rented to one player per cart due to COVID-19.

  

SPECTATOR CARTS

To provide an equal championship platform for all competitors, the use of carts by spectators is not permitted by WA Golf. 


CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABLED SPECTATORS

WA Golf is committed to providing an enjoyable spectator experience for people with disabilities at WA Golf Championships. Requests from spectators seeking transportation onto the golf course due to a permanent disability, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), should be submitted one week in advance to the WA Golf Championship Department. While spectator carts may not always be available at each site, WA Golf will make every effort to accommodate these requests when available. 

Generally, an ADA covered disability is defined as a “physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual”. See, 42 USCA §12102. Spectators with a “temporary” injury or impairment that is not an ADA disability will not be allowed use of a golf cart under this Policy.

 

Spectators with transportation needs must contact the WA Golf Championship Department prior to the championship. This full policy is available at the following link: wagolf.org/policies.

 

PUSH CARTS

Complimentary push carts will be available in the golf shop.

 

CADDIES

Host club caddies will not be available. A player may provide his or her own caddie. Caddies will be required to wear a caddie bib provided on the starting tee.

 

PRIZES

All prizes will be awarded according to 36-hole scores (gross and net). Trophies and merchandise certificates will be awarded to the Champion, Runner-up and Net Champion in both championships.

 

Awards will be given to any contestant who scores a hole-in-one or eagle during the championship. 

 

AWARDS CEREMONY

WA Golf will host awards ceremonies on Wednesday, June 16 immediately upon completion of play in each championship.

 

EXEMPTIONS

Senior Women’s Amateur – Champion will receive an exemption into the 2022 Washington Champion of Champions, the PNGA Senior Women’s Amateur, and a lifetime exemption into the Washington Senior Women’s Amateur.

 

Super Senior Women’s Amateur – Champion will receive an exemption into the 2022 Washington Champion of Champions, the 2022 PNGA Super Senior Women’s Amateur and a lifetime exemption into the Washington Super Senior Women’s Amateur.

 

PERFORMANCE POINTS LIST

Points for the Washington Senior Women’s Amateur are allocated as follows: Champion (35), Runner-up (20), and Top-5 (5) finishers.

 

GHIN SCORE POSTING

WA Golf will post competition scores for all players to the USGA GHIN System.

 

DRESS CODE

Players and caddies must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing while on host club property. The WA Golf Dress Code Policy is available at the following link: wagolf.org/policies and will be provided to all players, along with any additional measures required by the host club, in the Player Memorandum.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT

WA Golf expects all contestants, caddies, gallery, and guests to exhibit proper conduct and behavior on the golf course and anywhere on club property during a WA Golf Championship. Unbecoming conduct or behavior may be grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any WA Golf event. The following are some examples of unbecoming conduct or behavior:

  • Repeated use of loud, abusive, and/or profane language
  • Throwing and/or breaking equipment (club, ball, etc.) in anger or frustration
  • Damaging host club, WA Golf, and/or fellow contestant property
  • Public criticism or verbal abuse of host club, officials, volunteers or staff, and/or WA Golf volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
  • Potential endangerment of others
  • Intentionally violating stated club policy
  • Violation of WA Golf Dress Code and/or Footwear Policy
  • Other conduct deemed unbecoming

The Committee in charge of the competition shall be the sole judge of determining Conduct Code violations.

 

UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL

After the entry deadline and during play of the championship, players must notify WA Golf and state his or her need to withdraw. Entrants who unofficially withdraw (by not notifying WA Golf or without having sufficient reason) will not be granted entry into any future WA Golf Championship for a minimum of two years.

 

PACE OF PLAY POLICY

Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s Pace of Play Policy, which is in effect at all championships.

 

LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION

Players are encouraged to be familiar with WA Golf’s 2021 Local Rules and Terms of the Competition, which will be in effect at all championships.

 

PROHIBITED USE OF AUDIO EQUIPMENT

Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player is not allowed to use an electronic device to listen to music or other audio (such as podcasts or the like), including by using speakers, headphones or earbuds. Penalty for breach of Local Rule - see Rule 4.3.
