Pace of Play Policy
Purpose:
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable tournament experience, all players are expected to maintain a reasonable pace of play. Remember—we’re playing for the Tampa Junior Tour, not the actual PGA Tour, so no need to take forever lining up that perfect shot! ⛳😉
Shot Timing
- Players should take no more than 40 seconds per shot.
- Players hitting first from a tee, fairway, or green may take 50 seconds.
Group Position
- A group is considered out of position if it falls behind the expected pace or the group ahead.
- Time par: Each hole should take approximately 15 minutes on average.
Enforcement
- Groups warned for slow play must immediately speed up.
- If slow play continues, individual players may be timed.
- Penalties:
- 1st offense: warning
- 2nd offense: 2-stroke penalty
- Subsequent offenses: disqualification
Tips for Maintaining Pace
- Be ready to play when it is your turn.
- Limit practice swings and pre-shot routines.
- Replace divots, repair ball marks, and maintain flow.
- Walk briskly between shots and use the shortest route allowed.
