Eligibility & Age Divisions – Tampa Junior Tour
To participate in our tournaments, players must meet minimum scoring criteria based on their age group. Prior to competing for the first time, you will need to submit three scorecards via email to the tournament director that meet the requirements below. This is a one-time requirement—once completed, your child will remain eligible for all future 2026 events unless determined otherwise by First Tee staff (see below).
Scoring Requirements: Email to Sydney Stengel
- Ages 13–14 and 15–18:
-

-
- Ages 12 & Under:

(Please note: the 7–9 division has been merged into the 12 & under division.)
Who Can Play
- Open to amateur junior golfers ages 7–18.
- Players must not have completed high school and started college. (You may take college classes while still in high school, but once you graduate and attend college, you become ineligible.)
- Minimum age: 7 years old—no exceptions.
Age Determination
- Player age is determined as of April 1 (the start of the season).
- Players remain in that age division for the entire season.
- If a player has a birthday during the season and wishes to move up to the next age division, they may do so, but will forfeit all points earned in their previous division.
Conditional Status
- In the 13–14 and 15–18 divisions, exceptional younger players may be granted conditional status if they have proven themselves in other junior tournaments.
- Note: Once you move up an age division (other than via birthday promotion), you cannot move back down.
Maintaining Tournament Eligibility
Players are expected to maintain the scoring standards required to participate in Tampa Junior Tour events. To remain eligible for tournament play, players must consistently demonstrate the ability to complete a round with a score of 55 or under.
If a player is unable to continue meeting the 55-or-under scoring requirement, the Tampa Junior Tour reserves the right to suspend or remove the player’s tournament eligibility. This determination may be made based on a player’s recent tournament performance and ability to consistently meet the required scoring standard.
Players whose eligibility has been suspended may work toward regaining eligibility through continued practice and improvement of their golf skills. Tournament eligibility may only be reinstated with approval from the Tampa Junior Tour.
The goal of this policy is to ensure that players are prepared for the challenges of tournament play while providing them with an opportunity to continue developing their golf skills.
Regaining Tournament Eligibility
If a player’s tournament eligibility is suspended due to not meeting the 55-or-under scoring requirement, they may work toward regaining eligibility by continuing to practice and play.
To be considered for reinstatement, the player must submit a new set of three scorecards demonstrating that they are capable of consistently meeting the 55-or-under scoring requirement. Submitted scorecards will be reviewed by the Tampa Junior Tour.
