Welcome to the IGA
The IGA is a self-funded, fun group of individuals who love the game of golf for its personal challenge and competition. The IGA is open to Intel employees, friends, and families of all skill levels. Members are able to establish and maintain a USGA compliant handicap that allows them to compete with players regardless of skill level. Membership runs from January thru December and is $70 ($35 of which goes to the Arizona Golf Association). See League Registration for more information.
Monthly Events
The IGA averages one event per month with varying formats at varying venues. Clear here for the current year calendar. Events are handicapped and flighted, when applicable, to provide a competitive event and award prizes to winners. Event fees for members are as follows: Course Contract Cost + $5 prize fund. Guests are charged a $10 adder over the member fee. The overall prize pool and payouts to winners are dependent on the number of participants. Prize payouts are in cash.
The IGA also has skill hole competitions during the event in which all competitors are eligible to participate with no additional entry fee. Winners are awarded points to be applied to the yearly points competition with one event per quarter (4 events during the year) having a cash payout of $20 per skill hole. The skill holes are as follows:
- Long Drive
- 3 Closest to the Pin par 3
- 2 Closest to the Pin in Two Shots par 4
- 2 Long Putt
Depending upon the format, there is also a skins game as part of the event. The skins game is optional and entry fee is $10 payable upon sign-in on the day of the event. Payouts are in cash for both gross and net skins.
The IGA utilizes Golf Genius for live scoring and leaderboards during our events. The Golf Genius app can be downloaded for iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows Phone.
Match Play
The IGA also has a yearly match play competition which is separate from our monthly events. Click here for additional information.
Yearly Points Competition
The IGA has a yearly points competition in which we recognize a player of the year who as performed consistently at a high level (winning flights, skill hole competitions, etc.). The winner of the points competition receives a ‘rotating’ trophy that is passed year over year. Similar to the FedEx Cup, points are awarded based upon a players finish position within the flight. The number of points are adjusted (similar to the FedEx Cup) based upon the format of the event (individual versus team). Click here to see a schedule regarding the number of points per finish position. In addition, skill hole winners receive 10 points per skill hole.
Participation Bonus
In recognition of those members that participate in a majority of the events throughout the year, the IGA offers a participation bonus. Recognition consists of a $10 discount on the following year’s membership for those members that participate in 7 events during the year.
