If you have ever watched a PGA Tournament and wondered how someone could miss a two-foot putt, and wondered if you could handle the pressure - the DVMGA is for you.  

 

If you want to play fun, slightly competitive golf and want to play with your friends and/or meet new golfers, the DVMGA is for you.

 

The Dominion Valley Men's Golf Association (DVMGA) is a golf organization associated with the Dominion Valley Country Club. This association, which currently has over 200 members, provides a structured environment for golfers of all skill levels to enjoy the game & competition and cultivate camaraderie.

 

DVMGA Members include a mix of retirees and those trying to get there, including all types of backgrounds: government employees & contractors, technology sales & engineers, relators & mortgage banking, personal and business insurance, law enforcement & public service, military, finance, and entrepreneurs & business owners.

 

Key Activities and Purpose

 

• Tournaments and Events: There are seven golf tournaments and other events throughout the year for its members.  You don’t have to play in all the tournaments to get value from your MGA membership.
• Competition: The tournaments allow DVMGA members the ability to play competitive golf - regardless of handicap or ability.
• Promotion of Golf: The association aims to foster enthusiasm for golf and create opportunities for golfers to play within the Dominion Valley community.
• Camaraderie: The DVMGA provides opportunities for members to meet, socialize, and play golf in a competitive, but relaxed & fun environment.  
• Skill Levels: Members are of all abilities, allowing golfers to find competitive formats and social play based on their preferences.  All golfers are required to have a USGA handicap index and all tournament scoring includes both gross and net scoring.

 

Additional Information
 

• Membership: The DVMGA is a dues-based organization and all full golf members at Dominion Valley & Platinum Regency golf members are eligible to join.
• Open Play:  Tournaments have multiple flights. In addition to our main flight, most tournaments also include flights for Seniors and Super Seniors.
• Tournaments:  We have both individual and team events; single and multiple day events
• Handicap Index:  All tournament scoring includes factoring in a golfer’s handicap. 
• Sponsors:  The DVMGA relies on sponsorships to help offset the costs for tournaments as well as food and beverage.  Available Sponsorships include tournaments, beverage carts, and trophies. Benefits to sponsorships include signage, social media and other communications, and participation in the closest to the pin sponsorship competition during our signature event – The Palmer Cup!
