Format:                                                                                

54 holes stroke play, 18 holes per day. Contestants will play from the NCGA Tee Markers wherever they are situated (see Yardage sheet). If necessary, there will be a play-off to determine first place immediately following the conclusion of play. If a play-off cannot be conducted (decision of the Committee and golf course) the USGA method of matching cards will be used. Ties for second or third place will be broken using the USGA method of matching cards.

 

Competition Schedule:                                                   

Round one will start at 12:00 PM at Poppy Hills GC with 10-minute intervals off Tee #1 and #10. Round two will start at 7:30 am in 10-minute intervals off Tee #1 and #10. The low 30 players and ties will advance to the final round and will start at 7:30 AM off the 1st tee. Players will be re-paired by score for the final round. Please be at your assigned tee at least 10 minutes prior to your starting time.

 

Practice Round Information:                                       

Please call the Pro Shop at (831) 622-8239 to schedule a practice round.

Fee: $90 (Monday-Thursday), $120 (Friday-Sunday); carts are $25 per player (optional).

 

Local Rules / Hole Locations / Scorecards:

All paperwork will be available for players ONLINE linked below on or before July 15th:

  • Notice to Players (Local Rules)
  • Hole Locations – Day 1 - Day 2 - Day 3
  • Scorecards - Round 1 - Round 2 - Round 3 (scorecards are available to print as a convenience for players, but have no Rules status)

No paper materials will be provided or available on site.

 

Cart Fee Information:                                                     

The use of automotive transportation is prohibited.  Players must walk during stipulated rounds. SPECTATOR CARTS ARE PROHIBITED.

 

Caddies:  Caddies are permitted in any NCGA competitions at this time.

 

Golf Shop:                                          

The Poppy Hills golf shop will open at 6:30 AM. Masks are required in pro shops at all times.

 

Food and Beverage Availability: Porter’s Grill will be available for at 7:00 am.

 

Practice Range:

The driving range is open and spaced for safe distancing. Poppy Hills range will open at 7:00 am. Please check in with the Pro Shop to receive your range balls. Players will not be allowed on the range more than 30 minutes before their scheduled tee time and 20 minutes before on the putting green.

 

Guest Policy:

Contestants are allowed to have one (1) guest with them during the competition. Guests may not ride in or otherwise occupy golf carts for any reason.

 

Payment Information:                                                    

Major credit cards are accepted for all purchases in the golf shop and F&B areas.

 

Additional Information:                                                 

Prior to the first day of the event, you must make yourself familiar with the Player Handbook, Hard Card and Pace of Play Policy. You, the player, are responsible for knowing this information.

 

Scoring: Players are expected to download the USGA TM app (or GolfGenius). The GGID for the group is available on the scorecard PDF available above. This GGID will also be texted to each player and available with the starter.

  • Within the group, players should enter scores for one other player. If someone does not have a phone available, players must ensure at least one player in the group is entering scores.
  • At the end of the round, all players in the group must confirm hole-by-hole scores posted online are correct. This can be done using the Leaderboard in the app or online in this event portal.
  • Any issues with scores after leaving your group must be communicated to staff via text, call or email no later than one hour after the final group has entered the 18th hole scores. After that time, the scorecard is treated as officially returned and certified. Staff contact information is available in the Notice to Players linked above.

Deciding Ties: All ties will be broken by the USGA recommended method of matching scorecards (Committee Procedures, Section 5A(6)).
