71st Massachusetts Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship for the Keyes Cup

Entry Fee:

$175.00 – Championship & Tournament Division(s)

$100.00 – Flighted Division

 

Entries Open: 5/4/2021 at 10:00am

Entries Close: 8/12/2021 at 5:00pm

 

Eligibility:
Entries are open to amateur golfers who have reached their 25th birthday by August 31, 2021 and who have an active Mass Golf/GHIN Handicap Index at any public, private, semi-private, municipal or non-real estate Mass Golf member course/club.

 

Championship & Tournament Division(s) - not exceeding 18.0 (as determined by the August 12, 2021 Handicap Revision), or who have completed their handicap certification.

Players must select either the Championship Division or Tournament Division at the time of registration

 

Flighted Division (formally the B, C, D & Championship) - between 14.0 and 36.0 (as determined by the August 12, 2021 Handicap Revision), or who have completed their handicap certification.

NEW FOR 2021 – COMPETITORS WITH HANDICAP INDEXES BETWEEN 14.0-18.0 HAVE THE OPTION TO PLAY IN THE FLIGHTED DIVISION

 

Entry Procedures:

Entries and fully paid entry fees must be received through the Mass Golf Online Entry process by 5:00pm EST on the published entry deadline. Entries will be selected in the order they are received (first come, first served).

 

Format:

Championship & Tournament Division(s)36 Holes at Stroke Play (gross & net)

 

Flighted Division – 18 Holes at Stroke Play (gross & net) (the number of and size of flights will be determined once entries close).

Playing Handicap (net scores): will be calculated based on the
August 26, 2021 Handicap Revision. Handicap Indexes used to determine a competitors Playing Handicap will not exceed 18.0 or 36.0 depending on division.

 

Field:

Championship & Tournament Division(s) - limited to 60 players (combined).

Flighted Division - limited to 30 players.

 

Schedule:

Round 1 – August 31 (18 Holes)
Round 2 – September 1 (18 Holes) for only Championship & Tournament Division competitors.
***Any tie for first place, in any division, will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole playoff.

 

Caddies & Automotive Transportation:

Cart fee is included in entry fee for both rounds. Caddies and pull carts (at the host club(s) discretion) are permitted.

 

Food & Beverage:

A complimentary luncheon will be provided for all competitors on August 31.

 

Starting Times:

Championship Proper Starting Times & Player Information will be emailed to all competitors shortly after the entry close date.

 

Practice Rounds:

Practice round privileges are at the discretion of the qualifying site and championship proper host club(s). Mass Golf will provide details surrounding the availability of practice rounds ahead of the scheduled event; please refrain from contacting the host clubs until specific details are received from Mass Golf.

 

Prizes:

Merchandise certificates will be awarded and are only redeemable at the host site.

 

Trophy:
Grace Keyes Cup engraved with low gross scorer from the Championship Division.

Only players in the Championship Division will be eligible to earn Anne Marie Tobin Women’s Player of the Year and Mid-Amateur Award points.

 

Additional Information:

Approx. Yardage (subject to change):
Championship Division – 5,500-5,800 yards
Tournament Division – 5,300-5,600 yards

Flighted Division – 5,000+ yards

Withdrawal & Refund Policy:

Competitors who have submitted an entry for a Mass Golf event and wish to withdraw for any reason, MUST notify the Mass Golf office (email preferred). Entry fee will be refunded less a $20 administrative fee, regardless of reason, if Mass Golf is notified seven (7) days prior to the event. Entry fee will be refunded less 50% for any withdrawals received less than seven (7) days prior to the event. No refund will be processed for a withdrawal notification that is received on the scheduled date of an event.
