U.S. Senior Open Sectional Qualifier

FORMAT &

QUALIFYING PLACES

18 holes of individual stroke play for a number qualifying spots and alternate spots to be determined in the 2021 U.S. Senior Open Championship to be played July 8-11, at Omaha Country Club in Omaha, NE.

PRACTICE ROUNDS

One practice round per player and practice rounds are for players only. Practice rounds will be available on the designated dates and times below. Please call White Columns Country Club at 770-343-9025 to reserve your practice round starting time. Practice round cart and range fee is $30 and must be paid regardless of whether or not the player chooses to walk or ride.  CREDIT CARDS ONLY will be the accepted method of payment in the golf shop.

 

  • Tuesday-Thursday, anytime based on availability
  • Friday – Sunday, after 2:00 p.m. based on availability.

CARTS

Practice round cart and range fees are $30. CREDIT CARDS ONLY will be the accepted method of payment. During the qualifying round, a caddie may transport a player’s bag on a cart for a fee of $30.  Spectator carts are strictly prohibited in all instances.

YARDAGES & TEES

Yardages are approximate and may be adjusted due to inclement weather or other factors that may affect the playing conditions during the competition. A yardage sheet is available the Golf Genius event portal and at the club.

GOLF SHOP &

DRIVING RANGE:

The golf shop and practice range will open by 6:30 a.m. the morning of qualifying.

STARTING TIMES

Starting times for tournament play will be assigned by the USGA/GSGA and will be posted at the club the day before the qualifying round. You may visit www.gsga.org for complete pairing information and starting times starting May 14. 

REGISTRATION

NO formal registration will be held on site.  Players should arrive to their assigned starting tee ten minutes before their starting time to allow for the starter to go over instructions and rules of play. Player withdraws must be called in to the GSGA office at (678) 324-5969 or e-mailed to jfages@gsga.org

CADDIES

A player may provide his own caddie. The player is solely responsible for making arrangements for a caddie. The player is not required to employ a caddie for any stage of the Championship.   Caddies may rent carts to transport a player’s bag.  No more than two carts per group so caddies may need to share a cart in some instances.

 

A limited number of club members are willing to serve as a caddie to transport a player's bag.  Contact the club for more information.

RULES OF PLAY/PACE OF PLAY/CART POLICY

The USGA Rules of Play and GSGA Pace of Play Policies shall be in effect. Click here to view policies.

PREFERRED LIES/DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES

Per the USGA, for all USGA Championships and qualifying rounds, the following policy is in effect: A Local Rule authorizing “Preferred Lies” or “Winter Rules” is NEVER permitted.

 

Distance Measuring Devices (Range finders) ARE permitted provided they measure distance only.  Any slope functions must be turned off.

PERSONAL APPEARANCE

In Sectional Qualifying stages and the Championship proper, players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming. The Committee in charge decides whether this requirement has been met, and has the authority to withdraw the entry of a player who does not comply.

FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICE

Food and beverage service will be available in the clubhouse. CREDIT CARDS ONLY will be accepted for F&B purchases.

PRIZES

A silver medal will be presented to the low scorer at the conclusion of the qualifying rounds.
