Barbasol Championship Pre-Qualifier Information

 

The Barbasol Championship Pre-Qualifier will be contested Thursday, July 2nd, 2021 at Cherry Blossom Golf Club (Georgetown, KY). The format will be 18-holes of stroke play with the low 40 scores plus ties advancing to the Open Qualifier.

 

All amateur and professional applicants must pre-qualify, except the following competitors who are exempt from pre-qualifying:

  • 2020-2021 season PGA TOUR member
  • Current Korn Ferry Tour members
  • Current PGA Tour Champions Tour Regular Members
  • Three (3) exemptions from the local PGA Section
  • Former PGA TOUR Members from 2018-2020
  • Players making a cut on the PGA Tour in 2020-2021 season
  • Players making a cut on the PGA Tour in 2019-2020 season (eligible for qualifiers through 2020 calendar year ONLY)
  • Players in the top 100 on the World Golf Rankings as of the non-member entry deadline.
  • Players in the PGA Tour event immediately preceding the Open Qualifier

The cost of the qualifier is $200 per player. Note: Successful Pre-Qualifying Professionals and Amateurs will be required to pay an additional $250 entry fee prior to teeing off in the Open Qualifying. A $100 fee will be required for current members of PGA TOUR Canada, PGA TOUR Latinoamérica, and PGA Tour China. 

 

The 2021 Barbasol Championship Pre-Qualifier will be played under the 2021 PGA Tour Hard Card.  Players are encouraged to review the 2021 PGA Tour Hard Card before entering the Pre-Qualifier to ensure they will be able to conform to the PGA Tour Hardcard for both the Pre Qualifier on July 8th, 2021  and Open Qualifier on Monday, July 12, 2021.

Eligibility:

All Professionals and any Amateur with a handicap index when applied to the qualifying course slope will generate a handicap of two (2) or less. 

 

The PGA TOUR reserves the right to verify the handicap index of amateurs and to refuse anyone not meeting the requirements.

 

Dress Code:

While on the host facility property, players shall present a neat appearance in both clothing and personal grooming.  Blue jeans, cutoffs, and T-shirts shall not be worn. 

 

Caddies:

Players are not required to have a caddie. Caddies are not permitted to walk on the competition course putting greens the day(s) of the Open Qualifying competition except during the stipulated round when accompanying their player.
