Notice to Competitors
121st WPGA Amateur Championship
Indiana Country Club, Indiana, PA 

Monday and Tuesday, July 12 & 13

 

 

Format: 54 holes of stroke play with a field of 78 players. After 36 holes there will be a cut to the top thirty-two (32) scores & ties. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and any Local Rules and Conditions distributed prior to play. In the event of a tie for first place, a hole-by-hole playoff will take place on holes determined by the committee.

 

Championship Schedule:

Monday, July 12 – Rounds 1 and 2. Round 1 starting times begin at 8:00 AM (36-Holes of Stroke Play, cut to low 32 & ties following completion of Round 2).

Tuesday, July 13 – Round Three, starting times begin at 8:00 AM (18-Holes of Stroke Play for the low 32 & ties after 36 holes).

 

Tee Markers: Play is from the BLUE WPGA tee markers. The starting tee for Round 1 will be Hole #1 and Hole #10. The course will play roughly 6,600 yards depending on conditions and yardages will vary from round to round.

 

Practice: Practice rounds can be scheduled by contacting the golf shop at 724-465-5222. The PGA Golf Professional is Zack Turek. Practice rounds are available at the discretion of the Pro Shop. Practice round fees are the responsibility of the player and will cost $50 including golf cart. The practice range will open one hour prior to the first tee time each morning of the competition.

 

Transportation/Caddies: Walking is required for the championship. Players may bring their own caddies. Caddies must walk in performance of their duties. Indiana does not offer caddies. Push carts are permitted for the competition.


Lodging: Lodging of various price ranges can be found in the Indiana area. A discounted block rate at The Hilton Garden Inn at IUP is available for $99. Food & Beverage: Whole fruits, coffee, and juice will be available for players prior to each round. Water will be provided on course during play. Lunch will be provided between Rounds 1 & 2 on Monday, July 12 and following play on Tuesday, July 13.

 

Pace of Play: The maximum allowable time will be four hours and twenty minutes. A four-point checkpoint system will be in place for the competition. Please review the WPGA Pace of Play Policy.

 

 

Note: A suspension for a dangerous situation will be signaled by one prolonged air horn note. All other types of suspension will be signaled by three consecutive air horn notes, repeated. Resumption of play will be signaled by two short air horn notes, repeated.

 

Footwear: METAL CLEATS ARE PROHIBITED. THE PENALTY IS DISQUALIFICATION. 

 

Spectator Info: No spectator carts will be permitted for the competition without pre-approved ADA verification. Please contact the WPGA office for ADA guidelines. ADA carts are based on availability. Spectators may purchase lunches at their own expense. Directions to the club can be found on the Indiana Country Club  website.
