TERMS OF COMPETITION

BY FILING OF THIS ENTRY YOU ARE AGREEING TO THE TERMS OF COMPETITION AS SET FORTH BELOW

 

ELIGIBILITY

Entries are open to amateur golfers who are affiliated with or are a member of a club which is a Member Club of the Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association.  Entrants must have an up-to-date and current USGA GHIN Handicap Index with a MAGA Member Club.  Juniors (18 and under) can be children, grandchildren or have legal guardian of a MAGA Member.  Entries are subject to rejection at any time (including during the Championship) by the Championship Committee.  The reason for rejection may include unbecoming conduct. 

 

ENTRIES:  Form, Fee, Closing Date

All players shall apply on the attached form, copies are acceptable.

 

$35.00 entry fee shall be paid by every applicant.  Entrant may file only (1) entry.  Entry fee will be refunded regardless of the reason if the Metropolitan Office is notified prior to the close of entries, June 16, 2021.   Application and fees must reach the Association’s Office at the address listed on the entry form by 5:00 p.m., June 16, 2019.  (Entries by telephone, telegraph or fax are not acceptable.)

 

SCHEDULE

9 holes at stroke play; 120 players are eligible.

SATURDAY, JUNE 26 - First Round, 9 Holes

 

Lowest scorer in Gross and Net formats in each Division for 9 Holes will be Champion. 

 

PRIZES

Awards for Champion and Runner-Up in each Division.  Gift Certificates to Ballwin Golf Club will also be awarded. 

 

NO OTHER REMUNERATION:  By this application, an entrant certifies that he is not entitled to remuneration of any kind for participation in this Championship other that the aforementioned prizes.

 

DIVISIONS:

There will be Divisions for Men, Women, Senior Men, Senior Women and Junior (18 and Under).  Senior is age 50 and over for both Men and Women.

 

RULES OF GOLF

Play will be governed by the United States Golf Association Rules of Golf.  Questions shall be settled by the Championship Committee whose decision shall be final.

 

CONDITIONS, SCHEDULES

The Championship Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions and schedules herein.  The decision of the Championship Committee in any matter shall be final.

 

GOLF BALLS; DRIVER HEADS

Only brands of golf balls on the most current USGA List of Conforming Balls may be used.  (List is available at www.usga.org).  Local Rule as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect.  Model Local Rule G-3.

FOOTWEAR

Ballwin GC is a spikeless facility.  Shoes with traditionally-designed spikes, comprised either partially or entirely of metal, are prohibitedPenalty for breach of this Condition:  DISQUALIFICATION.

 

CADDIES; AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION

A player may provide his own caddie or a player may carry his own clubs.  Players and/or caddies may use, at their own expense, automotive transportation during the Championship. 

 

REGISTRATION AT BALLWIN GC

All players must be ready to play at their appropriate starting point and published starting time.

 

NOTICE CONCERNING AMATEUR STATUS

Participation in this event is conditioned on Amateur Status.  The USGA Rules of Amateur Status shall apply.  The Championship Committee reserves the right to disqualify any participant for not having Amateur Status.  Disqualifying events include (i) competing for cash prizes in any amount and (ii) competing for merchandise prizes exceeding $750 in retail value.
