2021 GLT COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

 

  • TRAVEL ISOLATION: All players travelling outside of Canada or have been advised to self isolate within the past 14 days of a scheduled event will not be permitted to participate (A player may request approval from GLT Directors providing a negative COVID-19 test, Vaccination, or previous infection is proven prior to the official event starting times).
  • HOST FACILITIES: GLT will work with and adhere to all host facilities current COVID-19 Protocols in place. Full event protocols will be provided to event participants ahead of each event during the 2021 calendar year.
  • COVID-19 SYMPTOMS: If you are feeling unwell, develop a fever or any symptoms listed for COVID-19 prior to or during an event GLT Directors will assess the situation and approve a refund or tournament credit. The player will be asked to leave immediately. 
  • MASKS: Face coverings will be required to enter all clubhouses and indoor facilities at each host golf course.
  • ARRIVAL TIMES: All event participants will be asked to arrive at each event in 2021 no more than 1 hour prior to their start time.
  • CADDIES: Will be permitted at the discretion of the host facilities and must adhere to all COVID-19 Protocols in place if permitted to be on the property. 
  • SPECTATORS: Will be permitted at the discretion of host facilities and must adhere to all COVID-19 Protocols in place if permitted to be on the property.

 

2021 SEASON ON COURSE COVID-19 RULES & PROTOCOLS

  • ON SITE REGISTRATION: There is no official on site registration and players will be asked to check in with the official starter approximately 10 minutes prior to their posted start time.
  • SANITATION AREAS: Hand sanitation area will be available before entering the first and tenth tee areas and all players will be required to sanitize their hands to assist in the protection of GLT staff and other participants.
  • TEE SET UP: Full first and tenth tee set ups will be available at each event including hand sanitation, bottles of water and posted event rules, pin sheet and digital scorecard information.  Players may be asked to take a picture as paper versions will not be available.  PDF and online versions will also be available for players.
  • SCORECARDS: There will be no official paper scorecards. GLT will be utilizing golfgenius.com digital scorecards and each player will be required to download the GolfGenius FREE app and a GGID will be received for each player to mark scores digitally for another competitor in their pairing. Blank GLT scorecards will be available if a player is unable to utilize the application. Full details will be sent to each participant ahead of each event.
  • FLAGSTICKS: GLT will utilize host facility solution or have volunteers present to pull flagstick for each pairing. Flagstick rule will be communicated prior to the start of each event.
  • BUNKERS: There will be no rakes. If a player encounters a disturbed area within a bunker they may lift and place, with no cleaning, their ball within 1 club length no closer to the hole and they must notify their scorer of the procedure.
  • PAIRINGS:  The GLT will attempt to play tournaments in threesomes and may be subject to playing in foursomes based on host course recommendations and demand of tee sheets.
  • PLAYOFFS: In the event of any ties for first place, a hole by hole sudden death playoff will be required.  If the GLT is unable to produce a playoff within a comfortable time of completion of play, Tournament officials may make the decision to establish co-champions.  Prize money and points will be evenly dispersed.
  • SCORING: GLT will be utilizing Golf Genius Digital Scorecards in 2021. Players will be asked to download the Golf Genius App and a code will be given to each player for login in pre-event communication and at the first tee.  All players will be required to enter the scoring area after the completion of their round.  A GLT Scoring official will be present and will verify all scores with each player. Once a player leaves the scoring area and has verbally approved his scores, the scorecard will become complete for the round.  A digital signature may be required and a completed digital scorecard will be sent to each participant via email or text message.
  • EVENT COMMUNICATION: All participants will receive event communication via email and text messages.  Live leader boards and results will be available on the GolfGenius scoring app, GLT Website, Instagram, Post round messages, other social media outlets and displayed on monitor within scoring area.
  • PAYOUTS:  All prize money will be paid out via E-transfer.  All participants should have a solution in place to receive e-transfers for prize money.
  • PHYSICAL DISTANCING: Physical distancing practices will be encouraged by all players in respect to our host facilities, their staff, other players and GLT Staff. GLT Staff and course staff will be monitoring this throughout each event and if players disrespect club and GLT officials, a penalty/suspension/fine may be enforced.
