Eligibility

Open to female amateur golfers. Each team member must have an active Handicap Index through Central Links Golf. If you are from out of the region, you can join the Eclub of Kansas City through this link.

 

The field will be comprised of 60 two-lady teams.

 

Format

August 23: Four Ball (85% Handicap)

 

August 24: Chapman Alternate Shot (A player receives 60% of handicap, B player receives 40% of handicap)

 

Maximum Score for each hole is 9.

 

Golfers will play from the RED tees at Creekmoor.

 

Flights and Prizes

The field will be divided into Flights based on the team Handicap Index as of August 18, 2021.  Championship Handicaps will be based on the Handicap Index on August 22, 2021.  The Committee reserves the right to adjust a player’s Handicap Index for Round Two if a player makes an exceptional score which would qualify for an Exceptional Score Reduction in Round One.  Approximately 25%-30% of the field in each Flight will receive a prize in the form of gift certificates to the Creekmoor Golf Club Golf Shop.  Prizes will be awarded for both Gross and Net scoring in Flights.  Teams may not win prizes for both Gross and Net scoring and will be awarded the highest prize their team score earns.  Overall Gross and Net winners will receive trophies.

 

Entries: Application, Fee Closing Date

Players may enter the Championship by registering online.  Entries open on March 2, 2021.  The Tournament Fee is $350 per team ($175 per player). 

 

The Tournament Fee includes golf, cart, range, prizes, and awards lunch on Tuesday. Entries close at 11:00 p.m. CST on August 16, 2021. 

 

Refunds: The Tournament Fee is refunded entirely if withdrawal is made on or before August 19, 2021.  After entries close, the Tournament Fee will be refunded at 50% if requested by August 21, 2021.  No refunds are granted on or after August 22, 2021.

 

Schedule

Play will begin with a shotgun start starting times at 9:00 a.m. each day.

 

Lunch will be served immediately following Tuesday's play, and awards will be presented after play is complete.

 

Ties

A hole-by-hole on-course playoff will be used in the event of a tie for first place Overall Gross.  All other ties will be broken using the USGA Method (last 9, last 6, last 3, last 1).

 

Optional Competitions

An optional Scramble competition will be offered on Sunday, August 22.  Starting times will begin at 2:00 p.m.  This competition may be in addition to or in lieu of a practice round.  The fee for this competition is $70 per player ($140 per team) and includes golf, cart, and prizes.

 

An optional Net Skins game will be available for each day of the competition.  The net skins will be across the entire field and will be paid in cash at the awards lunch. $10 per team per day may be paid at registration or in cash at the event site.  Registration for each day must be made before play begins each round.

 

An optional Hole-in-One pot will be available for $10 per team and may be paid at registration or in cash at the event site.  Players must be registered before play begins.  The entire pot will be paid in cash to any player(s) who makes a Hole-in-One during the Championship.  If there are no Holes-in-One, the entire pot will be donated to the KWGA Memorial Scholarship.

 

Rules of Golf; Competition is Final

Play will be governed by The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA.  Questions will be settled by the on-site Rules Committee, whose decision will be final. The competition is final when the Championship trophy has been presented.

 

Equipment

All golf balls and clubs must conform to USGA specifications.  Any unusual equipment or devices, such as gloves, unusual tees, alignment aids, braces, and the like are prohibited by The Rules of Golf.

 

Dress Code

Proper golf attire is required.  Jeans, halter tops, tank tops, and athletic t-shirts are not permitted. Shoes with metal spikes are not permitted.

           

Transportation

 Golf carts are included in the Tournament Fee.  Cart rules during the Championship are subject to the discretion of the Golf Course Superintendent at the host facility based on course conditions and may change without notice at any time during the competition.  ADA requests for special exceptions to this rule are handled on a case-by-case basis and will be granted provided they would not alter the fundamental fairness of the competition by providing a player with an advantage over other players.

 

Carts are provided by the club; no outside golf carts are allowed.

Practice Round; Practice Privileges

Practice rounds are permitted, but not included in the Tournament Fee.  The host facility has graciously agreed to permit practice rounds at a rate of $30 walking and $50 riding.  Each participant may receive only one practice round at this rate and the practice round is limited to tournament players. 

 

Range

The practice range will be available at 7:00 a.m. each day.
